Hot Rods *** THE 20TH ALL DEUCE RUN *** PHOTO'S ADDED

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jun 1, 2021.

  1. That's right, guys, the 2021 ALL DEUCE RUN is going to happen, the date is finally set for the 20th All Deuce Run to Blowing Rock. It will be on Saturday, June 26th.

Same as in past years, we will head out from the Target Shopping Center in Cornelius, located on the NE corner of I-77 & Hwy 73 (Exit 25 off I-77), at 10:00 sharp. We’ll make a stop at the overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway to stretch our legs & check out each others’ deuces. The panoramic view is an incredible backdrop for photos too!

Next we're on to Blowing Rock for lunch. We'll be eating at Foggy Rock Eatery & Pub. They have asked that we arrive after 2 PM and this year they'll need us to give them a head count for those planning to attend. This is very important, so please send me a conversation and let me know names & numbers as soon as you can.

The following pertains to those of you who join us for the dinner on Friday night:

Bill has spoken with the owners of Lancaster's BBQ and they said they will try to accommodate us. The pandemic has caused wait staff shortages everywhere and Lancaster's is no exception; a rough head count will certainly help them better serve our party, so do let me know if you plan to eat dinner with us on Friday night too.

If we are going to make it happen this year, I need to know who will be in attendance on both days as soon as possible.

I will also be sending out information to all the people on the All Deuce Run Email list in the next few days. Let me know if you'd like to be added.

Since we were unable to host this run last year, we could all use some time away; breathing in the fresh mountain air, seeing some old friends, and meeting some new ones. Hope to see you all there!

    Run Coordinators:

    Bill Rhodes in North Carolina
    Danny Berry in South Carolina

**Whether or not you're joining us for dinner, if you’re planning on staying overnight, here’s a list of motels in the area:

EXIT 36 off I-77 Mooresville (Restaurant Exit)
Baymont Inn & Suites @ 132 Meadow Hill Cir 704-799-7070

  8. I usually try to post up some photos of the All Deuce Run so that newcomers can get a feel for what it's all about. I'm afraid I fiddled around this year and didn't get pictures up as early as I should have. Better late than never...here are a few snaps from the last year the run was held, 2019...

  10. We had a good showing at the Friday night dinner which gives all the people in attendance a chance to make new friends and renew old friendships.

We had a good turn out for the 20th All Deuce Run with 25 Deuces meeting at the starting point, Target Shopping Center this morning. Lot's of new cars and faces.

We got home shortly before 9 PM and I have just started downloading the photo's, HRP

Dang, I just saw this thread for the first time. My fault for not staying on top of it. At least I have my decal from a few years back with you and Randy. 20200115_213637.jpg

  20. ...and just like that, 20 years have flown by. The 20th running of the All Deuce Run was held yesterday (6/26/21) and we were blessed with great weather and a great turnout of people and cars. The run took a year off in 2020 due to the plague and there was some question as to how many would show up. No worries, the car count was about the same as it usually is and many folks drove in from out of state. I saw lots of nice cars and caught up with some friends, it was a good day. I am looking forward to next year. The HAMB is acting pissy today and for some reason I keep getting a 'security error' when I try to upload a photo. I've tried three times without success. So I'll post a link to my All Duece Run Gallery. https://tombo.smugmug.com/2021-All-Deuce-Run/

  24. A big Thank you Tom for showing us the back roads away from all the constriction on I-85 South bound, beautiful ride through the country and going the extra miles to make sure we got on the correct roads leading us to Spartanburg for a construction free final leg of the trip home. HRP

Tom,Thank you so very much for your making the final leg of the Deuce Run so enjoyable. The ride through the country was so much easier on Danny's back and my nerves ( I do not like interstate travel). Thank you for going out of your way to be sure we we found our way.
