He and I both took a ton of photos in that setup. I looked at mine and confirmed that wasn't my photo. How they got on the net un-watermarked is a mystery, but I bet it all goes back to Darwin. Although now that I think more about it there was another guy who may have climbed up on the platform briefly, and not being a regular photographer he may well have circulated his photos for all the Jr Stk guys.

That's one of Geoff's photos. He loved hauling that ladder all throughout the halls. :)

Nine of those are original Juniors. Two are still as last raced in 71 although the Gunnings did freshen up the Jenkin’s motor in their 4 door.

Marv Ripes. He won NHRA national events with both cars. He will be 86 in September.

found this on Colsey's place today. https://www.facebook.com/colesysplace/photos/a.1586646924936118/2869323040001827/?type=3&theater

" A 1965 photo of Ross Ramsay's 273 cu in Valiant sponsored by Ken Scott Motors in Port Credit Ontario. This is the dealership where local Mopar racers Gord Coates and Don Cloake both worked. It later became Peel Chrysler Plymouth. In this photo Ross is holding his trophy for a D/SA class win at St. Thomas. The car was named "The White Tornado".

I thought through the years that They didn't do that well in class racing because of a poor HP/weight ratio.

Around this time in D/S my 1967 Mustang 390 was also in D/S vs their 273.

In fall of 1973 I ordered a cast iron powerglide and 8" converter from Marv for my 1957 Chev
Super Stock car. I remember it was $ 199 for the trans and $ 399 for the converter.

I believe that's Russ Matthews' Buick convertible. Not sure about the Comet. the sign on the fence appears to say "Springnat..."

Barkley/Ripes v. Willard Wright at Riverside Raceway, probably the Hot Rod Magazine meet during the late 60s.
This drag strip ran south-to-north (counter to the direction of the sporty cars) on the back straight-away of that well-known road racing venue. It was located in the northwest quadrant of what is now the community of Moreno Valley.
