Around here they always say in the ad "just needs a carb rebuild".

My dad always told me about wood boats when I started working on them: sometimes you can get one for free, and still pay too much.

    And he was dead right.

I think I've started with some that didn't look that good.... At least you won't be guilty of ruining it.
Getting good paper work and matching tags changes everything.

  4. Actually a nice 55 Nomad came up for sale with just the basic up grades to drive train for under $40,000 here in Tejas a few months back - owner had it for sale to cover his medical bills......

  5. Bought this quite some time ago, and had it stored at a friend's place, about 3 hours away. Time got away on me, but it's home now(last weekend). Price was good then, even better now. Starting to go through the parts in the back. Anybody have the stainless trim that sits on the top of the door exterior? IMGP3766r.jpg

That car is very rare. Nobody and I really mean nobody has one quite like it.

If the quarter panel on the inside isn't too bad you can get a pair of radiused rear wheel wells out of it

What amazes me- there is someone on Hamb that could put it together with some extra parts of course. Not me.

  12. A good friend of mine recently bought a running/driving and pretty decent 57 Nomad for $7500. He knows he stole it, but it was one of those right place at the right time deals.

  13. What looks like a pretty good 57 Chevy firewall, A-post, and Nomad a roof skin and B- posts that's got to be worth $200.00.

Can't wait to see the build thread on this one!

  15. Haven’t bought it.
If I do it will probably not resemble a nomad

wonder how the nomad roof would look on a 50 mercury?

  16. THEY’RE STILL AFFORDABLE. $200 NOMAD

But can you afford to bring it back to life, I doubt it. HRP

  17. I don’t know why you’re yelling but if I buy this hull, it’s chances of staying a nomad is slim.

My guess it that Danny just cut and pasted the title from your original post so it came out bold and in caps. Either that or he figured you are a bit deaf from "hitting cars with hammers".

  21. Ok, $200 nomad parts car - check
Wanted, cheap early Corvette...please call...gonna build one of these. ;)

Theres $200 worth of stuff there, its the next $50k ya gotta worry about. Stock resto would be insane. But using this shell as a basis for a custom build has some possibilities.
    Was there a title?

  23. Don’t know. Don’t need one.
If it had a title, I’d defiantly buy it to sell to folks that need em and still use the hull to build something.

At the risk of getting the whole thread shut down... great candidate for a Nomad version of this?

Robert that's not a 55 firewall, did you just mis-type?

  28. Not yelling at all, I just copied your title and I suppose that set the stage for the bold type.
I am whispering now. :D HRP

When I see something like this, I often wonder who strip it down this far, and that most of the parts that were taken are just sitting in some boxes in a garage, only to be taken away by the junkman when the person passes on.
