Still plugging away at the floors one step closer. The ol lady worked on fitting the flipped firewall feet back on and couple cosmetics while i got some welding done to the rear spring hump and rear wheel wells. Also going to use a vw bus steerjng bracket to hold the f1 steering box.

Well haven't updated the build for a while. we have flipped the firewall and welded it back into place. got the front floor welded to the new floor. after working on the floor and fire wall we decided to change it up and knock out so other small stuff that needed to be done. So, the girlfriend made the final version of her taillight mounting brackets using fender mounting holes. i notched the front of the frame to keep the front spring from bottoming out on the frame when i jumped on it and tried to mockup where the f1 shock mounts would go. they need to be heated and bent. by no means winning a race but getting some littles

got a little more done so far. finally got the hole drilled for the steering column. so mocked that up to see how it all worked out. while I was knocking that out the column the better half started to make some mounting brackets for the front pan hard bar.

little more knocked out of the way. I'm running the original fuel tank along with a 15gal tank in the rear so had to make filler neck to be able to fill rear. I wanted to mirror the original fuel filler neck but also not have it come off as a big eye sore with a big fuel cap or door. also got the bracket for the other side of the front pan hard bar knocked out. started on getting the seat brackets made for the sliders just in case the ol lady needs to drive it.

well still knocking stuff out. Got a couple hours in the garage last night so got the f1 steering box mounted up with 60s era VW bus steering box bracket. I would've like to have it sit a little closer to the fire wall, but with the starter being on the driver side this was the best solution I could come up with. Next up we will mount the seat so I can set up final mounting spot for the column and wheel.

Well got some more knocked out. tried using a stock column drop ,but was to much drop so had to fab one up for the amount I needed. Just need to shape it alittle better and it will work. Made an easy bottom column mount aswell. got the pedals heated and moved to allow room for gas pedal. Ordered new carb so will be swapping old 2 barrel out for 4 barrel. Took measurements for radiator so if anyone has a shop they know of that does custom radiators please let me know

Hey Eric, great to see you plugging away on your first hot rod build. Looks like you, your girl, and your friends are doing a fine job.
I will crack another cold beverage, sit back and enjoy this ride. Good luck

Well battery tray is done for the 30. Just enough room for it and the rear tank. Other holes are where the tank mounts

I’ve had my drip rails from Mac’s on back order for a year and a half. Might try Burt’s in Colorado?

Been bust couple seam sealer on the floor, put some body filler in some of the parts I had to work on, got the front pan hard bar welded in. Took the old crappy grill shell and cut 5in out of it to make it flow with and not sit down near axle plus never chopped one

Yes sir had a custom radiator made. Believe it's 20in tall, was made by
independent antique radiator out of illinois very happy with it as it was a complete custom build l. Great communication and kept me up to date on build until I got it at the house
