Tell me about the "trim" around the body opening on your car. I ended up with something quite similar looking on mine. I did a 1/2" square tubing framework bent to fit the inside "corner" of the opening lip, and then added polyurethane foam, sanded to shape, and then 3 layers of fiberglass over it. I also imbedded a strip of .040" aluminum about 1" wide so I could install rivnuts to hold the aluminum interior in my car.

BTW....I like your engine choice!

I love T-buckets and Model T hot rods! Nothing says stripped down hot rod like a Model T with a flathead V8 in it.

Very basic bucket..looks like a lot of fun!

 

A BONER,dose look like fun bucket,the fun factor could go up even more on that one with Tube shocks up front an rear springs out a little wider in the rear an about a foot+ taller with two part windshield with top 1/2 so you can flip up<for no bugs in eyes n teeth,or down when sporting around at in city speeds.
In any case ,I like it !

In the early sixties my older cousin took me for a ride in his semi finished T bucket. A 23, with a 283 , cam four barrel, Ford 3 speed , just a very simple bucket. My very first ride in one, about half way into second gear , he nailed it just as I was turning my head to say something to him, like to have broke my neck! Flung a craving on me that I haven’t got rid of yet! Fifty years later.... still no T! But I’m fixing to come up with an extra engine and transmission and I have an old chrome fifties/ sixties t bucket running gear on the ranch...... so with any luck............

Same car, built by Mike Mason. V6 Buick was pulled and replaced by a fully polished 215 aluminum Buick V8 with fake Blower/Injector. 4 barrel carb was under the blower case. Was owned by Greg Hutchins of Sioux Falls, SD. the last I knew of it, no idea where it is now. Greg and I went to the last NSRA Nationals at the Mn. State Fair Grounds in it, fun little car!

I agree, very tastefully done, it just seems to flow together, has great proportions.
I don't quite understand why so much enthusiasm exists nowadays to build a car "the way they were" when something this well executed can be done.
It actually looks like a T that could be a distance driver, unlike many of the uncomfortable deathtraps of old.

 

Looks like there aren’t many “expensive” parts needed to build something like this slick T. Surprised more little roadsters like this aren’t being built!

 

Looks like something you sit in rather then on!

I’ve been looking at this one a lot lately… love it. Are there any detailed articles on this car? I know it was in the September 1951 Hot Rod Magazine, but any online info? I’ve seen some different photos of it and there were some changes to it… the photo above shows the restored version I think.

I’d like to build a T inspired by that some day… so far I have the Turtle Deck.
