  12. I wonder why is the engine mounted so high up? The transmission tunnel must be huge.

That was Vinnie Tarentola's record setting C/GS Willys. It was bought by Louie DiDinato and was a street rod and black for awhile. This is the first I've seen it in over 45 years. It started life with a blown Buick that screamed then Vinnie put in a SBC and started setting records. He was also the founder of Vitar Powershift Hydros. mHe was a very smart man, his first shop was upstairs from another gasser record holder Jack Merkel.

It was at Steel in Motion car show and event in South Carolina a few years ago. I would guess that the owner lives nearby. I knew that it had some cool history.

  25. Not that it matters to me but, not seeing any door hinges makes me think this is a 'glass car.

Probably is, no hinges, or stainless trim are usually dead giveaways.

  29. I've always wanted to/wondered what it would look like if I was to prime a 'glass Willys (one solid color), then sprinkle chop saw grinding dust onto the car/into the paint (roof and tops of fenders) while the primer was still wet, then park it outside for a while. Obv the intent would be to have genuine rust on a 'glass car. I agree, it would be 'fake patina' but it might actually be hard to detect (the fakeness of it).

I may have missed my meds this morning ... :(
