We had a Q and A and one of the question was what was written over the aircraft door?

There are so many awesome scenes in that movie it's impossible to pick one. But I do really like when milner uncorks the coop. A funny one is when that guy says to him "hey milner, can you spot weld the bumper bracket on my Mopar" A Hollywood moment. Debbie is so hot

  5. I seem to remember reading an article about the movie that said the cut the spring bolts nearly through so they would snap easily.

Saw it three times in a theater when it first came out. Went in my '55 Chevy. I think the hair on my neck stood up the first the '32 came on the screen.

  11. I just love watching that '32 cruise around town. Especially the gas station scene. unnamed%20(1).jpeg unnamed%20(2).jpeg unnamed%20(3).jpeg

  13. I was in diapers in 62, but really enjoy the movie, catch something new every time I see it. Cruising was definitely a thing when I was in high school in the eighties. From the dock to Mcdonalds in a slow loop, all night long.

The scene that I always think of is from More American Graffiti, where John is heading home, and you can see a pair of headlights in the distance, which disappear from view along with John's taillights after he crests the hill...

He met a nice girl, and his racing career was on the verge of taking off. It's interesting to ponder where life would have taken him if it hadn't been cut short.

  19. Or was it that Milner had peaked? Got the girl, won the big race as the underdog, could he have gone further? We'll never know, but his character went out at the top of his game.

And to think, all this happened in one night. I too was in diapers in ‘62 and my older sister took me to see it when it came out as she knew I liked hot rods. So many great scenes, both funny and not. Love ‘32 5 windows and ‘55’s to this day. At times I thought I maybe was born 15 years too late because of this.

Hidden car in Ammerican Graffitti. About 59 minutes into the movie, when Milner and Carol pull up next to the '60 Caddie at the intersection, a flash of yellow can be seen moving across the intersection in front of them. If you are watching on a DVD, when you get to that point, hit pause, move through that part frame by frame and you will see a most bitchin' yellow '57 Chevy 2 door Wagon with no front bumper, chrome reverse wheels and black walls.

Not sure it has been mentioned. But I really had a good time. And then Debbie says I watched you get sick, then you almost got beat up and your car got stolen and then we stole it back. Ect... I really had a good time.

The junkyard scene. I’m eyeballing all the wrecks. Did it when the movie was in the theater and still do today

I agree, so many GREAT scenes...but I like the gas station where he UN-corks the headers too. You always knew the showdown between Milner and Falfa was going to happen, but that was the moment it got serious. The hunted became the hunter.

Anyone else have the lobby card set from the theatre(s)? I need to get them framed one day.
