  3. Todd,

    Sounds great.

We too, takes two people to start the dragster. Pre-prime the in coming fuel line and dump gas into the two port.
Takes about two minutes to get it setup.

    When's the first outing?

Well I started off good but haven't had much luck lately. Been doing quite a bit of conversation with Mike at Alkydigger. Seems the nozzles in this thing are way too much for the engine and maybe even the pump. I'm running way way rich and flooding the shit out of this thing. However the gauge I used to leak the valve was not really what i needed so now I'm waiting on the correct one to come in to set it correctly for sure. Probably have to get some smaller nozzles also. I'm going to figure this thing out sooner or later!

Oh BTW Pat, that MAG transistor box i got. i put some old AA batteries in it and the tach seems to work pretty well. Of course i really can't keep it running long enough to know for sure! :)

Todd I had the wrong pump for my cu.in. got the right pump made all the difference in the world. Also my nozzle were clogged up so I brought them to a jeweler and had them sonic cleaned. Pump chart from the hilborn manual.

NICE! I wasn't able to get the original but my friend was able to make a copy of it and I'll pick up that copy tomorrow hoefully , Then I'll scan it. I would have preferred a scan of the orginal but I'll take what I can get!

Looks like I am once again going backwards,! I have been unable to get this thing to run since the day I made the video. I have changed nozzles to keep from flooding it so bad but now it appears that my pump has taken the terminal shit! I tried and tried last night to fire this thing but nothing. I primed it 7-8 times with pressure in the tank. It would fire but would never run. I pulled one of the inlet hoses and it was bone dry. so i pulled the pump and did the old pistol drill test.... nothing! Looks like the gears in it are pretty worn so...... Wallet here I come!

Watching the video, my 1st thought was, “Does he even Fit in it?!” Excellent, can’t wait for the parking lot video!

Well.....No i do not fit in it. BUT.... I can push the clutch in! :) However if I gain as much as another two pounds, I'm out! I literally have been watching my weight closley over the last year to make sure I am able to drive it! Plus with getting older it's harder to put my knee up in my chin than when I was 25!

Jim Morris called me the other night and wants to come by tonight and see the truck. His wife had back surgery and is having a rough time right now and he has to be with her 24/7 right now. He recently moved back home and wants to ride up and see it. He's not sure if he'll be able to attend Eastside Speedway's reunion next week to see it there.

Still waiting on parts and have no idea if I'll have it going by then anyway! :(

This pretty much says it all!! Had a great visit by Jim and his freind Hilton Showalter who helped Jim build the truck in 1963. He was also accompanied by his grandson. He told me a lot of good information and some good racing stories too!! More photos coming!

That is his smile lol. I think he wanted to look serious just because he's so proud of what he did with that truck.
