I've never understood the reasoning with putting the grille with radiator out front. I guess it's just so you don't injure the tires should you hit something.

I'd say there's some optical illusion going on there...the grill and rad may be forward to accommodate Hotrod accommodating going on and we must remember reason
many times takes a back seat to a desired look...

Many things also take a back seat to lack of planning, lack of skill, and lack of tools. I know this to be true. :(

  13. Speaking of across the pond ( ocean that is) here we have the Coffee Grinder roadster ca. 1960. Now restored and residing in England. IMG_1181.JPG when I say restored I mean it’s back to looking as it did in the photos.

...That is one showworthy sporty Hotrod Chrysler, this is no stranger to this Thread and I always say the Archives have many timeless discoveries waiting to be appreciated...bttt's are always refreshing to as finding things in huge Threads is daunting, I know...

That was a real oddball owned by an Revered Artist...he traded a Vincent Black Shadow for it literally in NY back in the early 60s...he passed in 2011...I wonder if the Hotrod is still within his estate and in a museum somewhere...

    @titus thanks for chiming in..

I was actually wondering about the whereabouts of the 3 Window beside it as it was Louie's friends Hotrod...that's one awesome pic...so Louie still has that 32 correct?...you've sure have had your share of interaction with Hotrod gold...;)

I honestly don't see it that way...I guess that's the Artsy in me...I think the 34 wears them well...but you gentlemen are quite civil about it but I will give you one of these just in case...1 per light...;)

I personally believe polished rather than the beadblast finish might balance the visual weight but again to those that can't stomach them there is never a balance...

In Hotrod/Custom there is very seldom unified like...no matter what is done to the rolling Artwork...

Quoted from an article in 2016 below...
"This supersmooth 1930 Ford Model A roadster was customised in America in the late 1950s, imported to England by celebrated pop artist Gerald Laing and recently bought back by his sons."

...so it looks to have been passed down to the Family...that's good to know...
This quote was from a story written in 2016 as it was in a Carshow in the UK...

  22. It is, the current owners family still drives it every chance they get. It’s kept on their estate in southern England ( I think) . Also it was featured in Ol’ Skool Rodz magazine two years ago.

Most likely he used a later axle with the spring mounts ahead of the axle instead of the early with the spring on top. Makes them look goofy.

  27. Surprisingly enough if you google 'center door T hot rod', there are quite a few examples out there. Definitely a quirky-looking ride for sure.. the highboy version shown earlier is kind of neat looking, but this one is the cat's ass!

Why would the flat-motor be shoved so far back?

...not Homogenized enough I guess...Perfect!...can't please the world...

That's why it's here...proud, unique and all Hotrod...and even period correct...goofy, that's a debatable opinion not worth debating of course as it's been done add nauseam, why would one do such a thing...because I don't believe there's a book of rules for Hotrods, just History, Inspiration and Ones Vision of what wins the race based on the Good Ole Days...

@Dyce how's the Ole Hotrod coming along speaking of Unique...;)

That is a good question...is there any high performance flathead hardware that would have made for a Rad forward reposition and the push backwards was chosen to keep the OEM position in lieu of?
