Just saw this. I was told by a retired Singer Sewing Machine Co. service man that Singer bought several of the '57 Couriers and distributed them to their service shops. He was at my house looking at my '55 that I bought out in Tucumcari, NM back in the late '80's.

Nice cars! Had a chance to buy a '58 from my brother's father-in-law back in the '80s but passed on it. Tomato red and white paint. 352 Police Interceptor with Cruise-O-Matic. Didn't have the nerve to pull the trigger at the time, couldn't find parts. One of many I regret, before the internet era. :(

  5. I cropped a pic of Juicyjuices 57. He has a similar headlight treatment.

  6. ^^^^^^. Thanks!
Big improvement, however it’s done. Sure like those 57’s.

  7. Bell Flower Tips, look right on this era. Might be a west coast thing. Hence the name Bellflower

I am not a fan of 57 Fords but this one is one I would like to have. Very nice.

My first car just out of high school in 1965. Had a 292 with 3-on-the-tree. Found a wrecked '57 in a junk yard. From it I got the 4-barrel intake with carb and the dual exhaust. Added cutouts and traction bars. It could hold its own against 283 Chevys.

In '68 I bought this cherry '58 2dr sedan for $200 including the new chrome reversed wheels. The 292 with 3-speed soon gave way to a 427/425 4-speed. Raced at the dragstrip in B/MP but raced mostly on the street. To race at the local NHRA track the car had to have a blowproof bell housing. In the Fall of '68 I was street racing and power shifted third gear at 7000. That's when the clutch and flywheel exploded. Luckily that mandated NHRA approved bell housing saved my feet as nothing came back into the interior at me. Sold the body to a friend and he installed a 390 with 4-speed.

  20. I have to ask about the rear exterior door handles. Where are they, were they shaved, if so then why not the fronts also?

  21. Somebody removed 'em, probably to make it look like a 2-dr. At least it doesn't look like they welded them shut. A guy in HS did that on his '57 Chev 4-dr and used a 2-dr front seat but you had to be a gymnast to climb in....
