My 63 Chrysler got a 413. The second pic is from a minor problem i had with the engine. I allso have one in the works for my 59 Dodge.
My kids' mother , used to have a '65 New Yorker w/ a 413. That boat would embarrass "muscle cars" regularly.
I think we can safely assume ...No . What caused that? Originally I was thinking detonation, but the other pistons don’t show signs. ( on my phone anyways)
Thought you were old? Or maybe I should just ask what is the nature of your ailment? Oh wait, I think I know
But usually (I’m no expert) you’d see the pecker tracks on the othe pistons? How does one piston get the brunt of it? Some odd hot spot, etc?
I haven't been on much lately due to the work load on the estate. I just sold a 64' 413 that my brother was building for a 62 Plymouth Savoy. Know anyone that needs a set of Stage III Max Wedge heads?
I dont have any real explanation what happend. Yes this was the only piston with a hole and no signs of this on the other. No craters or anything other strange on the rest of the pisons. But i tryed to use alle the extra displacement in the block that the hole offer. But it did not turn out well. The plug was damage and give some random sparks. So when the block got full of fuel and air and it give one of it random sparks it go boom. Shot of booth valvecovers through the boltholes and they was laying beside the engine. I was cruising in 55 mph when it happened and it happened fast.
