Thank you for your comments... I'm really anxious to hear it run, now 35 cu.in. bigger at 270. Mutha Thumper camshaft, more compression and long tube headers. 2.5" exhaust pipe, X-pipe towards the front with nearly 20 yr. old glasspacks. Last system was wide balanced chrome pencil tips, high lighting " inline six" this go-around dyno dave

Found this side view taken at the Goodguy's in Puyallup, had just installed the c.r. Camaro 5-speed, S-10 4.10 posi. and new TCI rear springs... With spring change it sat tooo high, went with 3" lowering blocks and it's sitting much better now... dyno dave '54 Bel Air.jpg

1st car was a 53 Bel Air 2 dr hrdt. Tan with a brown metallic top and insert. I did the typical cheap mods we did in the early 60's. I was 17 and drove it for 2 years. I've looked for a replacement but all I find are over priced rust buckets and cars with a style I don't like. Maybe some day?

The front end of my '54 is lowered 5.5"+ using dropped spindles, 3" Jamco springs and 25" tires, the rear is down the same 5.5" with TCI 2.5" springs and 3" blocks, on a rake with 28.5 tires... That '53 looks 2"-2.5" lower in the front, unsure about the rear setting. Thinking it's air suspension, raised to drive away. If those are reproduction hubcaps they were available in both 14" and 15". It's a Looker !!!!!!!!!!!!!, Dyno Dave

On P.3 1/2 down is a photo of the '54 before adding the outline graphics, but the stance is what I prefer. The later picture shows the car with later suspension, but before I got the 3" lowing blocks installed to get the correct stance...
In 1999, I got the custom dropped 3" front springs, made to order for this engine/transmission weight from J&M Enterprises, Rohnert Park, CA. (707) 544-4950 The dropped spindles, with exchange/or core charge from
Buffalo Enterprises, (360) 652-7684 Arlington, WA. I have the takeout '54 front crossmember with the dropped, all rebuilt, and aligned suspension.. Complete and installed the car rode and drove down the road very well,
Brake drum to Brake drum, if you have a long haul trucker buddy, its available.... Dyno Dave (360) 774-6246

As I remember Hoffman's car, the '53 front bumper with a '53 grille surround, the end slashes deleted and housing a Corvette grille. Maybe '53 front fenders to rid the '54 parking light bulge... Wish my '54 had the very same pieces.
Have always liked this one... dyno Dave

Do you by chance have the paint code for the blue on the roof?

I'm sorry I don't. The roof and inset panels were repainted somewhere between 15 and 20 some years ago...
At the time I just picked a then current GM color, asked the paint store to add the largest standard flake available and toss that in. Don't have codes for either color, they have matched by eyeballing. dyno dave

As it was I was going to just either use the code off my wife's blue Ford focus or ask random people with newer cars with a color I liked if I could look at their paint code lol
