Spring Carlisle is next week, I am SO ready for it! Who all is going?

Hi. Also for you southern guys Pate is 4 - 22 - 24. All the vendor spots sold out so they opened a new overflow area for more vendors. This year it will be held in the big parking lot between Texas Motor Speedway and I 35 instead of the old area along Texas 114. This is because there is a HUGE Dallas/Fort Worth Covid vaccination area set up right in the middle of the old swap meet area and they cannot have all the swap meet folks in the way.
Our club as one of the co-owners of the Pate Swap Meet will be scattered around working various jobs during the swap meet.

After all the cancelations this past year I’m looking forward to it. Hell, I would go to an insurance seminar just to get out and mingle.

Never been to spring Carlisle. I'm in the market for a set of reproduction '34 commercial headlights for my Deuce roadster. Would any vendors have those type parts?

Weatherman says 50 on Thursday after a low of 34. Now that sounds like Spring Carlisle weather! How many remember 1993. We arrived to see the grounds covered with wet snow. Many of the internal paths were not paved; and vendors got stuck and some set up right where they got stuck. Later in the week the weather improved. Friday looks like a great day and I imagine the crowd will arrive.

 

BT31-33 (inside T building), too old for that outside set up anymore. Hey Stan (Stan's Stainless) ...you going?

 

I should be there on my mini scooter, and pulling a wagon. Just can't walk the whole fairgrounds anymore. If ya see me, say hi.

 

I am envious of you guys who have a swap meet to go to. They all seem to be cancelled here.

I can't help ya since I don't know your location. As a reminder to anyone in the Midwest, the Jefferson, WI Swap Meet is this weekend; Friday thru Sunday. @ahshoe and I will be in the White Field. Hope to see many HAMB'ers

 

Sorry that you need the scooter but at least it’s cool looking.
On the lighter side:
Have you ever seen the guy in the electric scooter with a generator on a separate cart that runs the scooter? Pretty sure he had a another empty wagon hooked up to the two. Catching him at an intersection was like getting caught at a RR crossing. Pretty ingenious though.

 

Those scooters are a life saver! My buddy and I are both about to hit 70, bad knees, hips and back problems forced us to a Palmer scooter pulling a sulkey. We get some crap from wise guys some times but that is what middle fingers are for I will be watching for you and your cool ride!!

I saw a 40 Ford hotrod black primer with blue flames that I believe a poster on here owns but couldn't put a face with the car. Saw about 815 AM back by one of the gates and later in the day in a parking spot in one of the isles. Believe I read a post he's owned it forever and a day and put a lot of miles on the car. Think I have seen the car before a few times but just putting 2 and 2 together. One of the 1st cars I tinkered with as a child was a 40 Ford up on saw horses sanding floors and wire wheeling rust off the frame. That memory and that car as it sits is what that car from way back was supposed to be. Would have shared that in person if I found the owner.
