  13. Some great stuff already being posted and Friday is still in it's infancy!
Many years ago I watched a good friend(Glen Weisgerber)paint a license plate on the back of a funny car he had lettered. It looked very realistic right down to the expiration tag. Years went by and I remembered this and decided to give it a try. My first attempts weren't great but they weren't all that bad either. Eventually I got to where I could do a half decent job of doing them and actually sold quite a few(for display purposes only of course!). I posted pictures of some of these and even did a how-to on the HAMB so I figured I would bring a few of them back.Several members here asked me to make them one which I did. Hope you enjoy them.
#1 is one I made to show how they were done.I left the guide lines on.
#2 & #3 shows a comparison between a real plate and one of my painted ones.
    The rest are for various customers and friends and a couple for my own vehicles(the Syclone & the Trans Am). The Ridler plate was painted on a lower valance panel for the Motor City Auto Arts auction.The BOGUS plate is painted on the box that holds my plate blanks. 1.JPG 2.JPG 3.JPG 4.JPG 5.JPG 6.JPG 7.JPG 8.JPG 9.JPG 10.JPG 11.JPG 12.JPG 13.JPG 14.JPG 15.JPG 16.JPG 17.JPG 18.JPG 19.JPG 20.JPG 21.JPG 22.JPG 23.JPG 24.JPG 25.JPG 26.JPG 27.JPG 28.JPG

While I was making a delivery out on Harbor Island, in Seattle about 5 years ago, I spotted this super clean 41 Caddy hearse. It has some beautiful lines.

  19. Happy Friday to all ! Loads of cool stuff already guys.
My submission this week recounts a story from a HAMB member that decided to take the scenic route on his way to the Lonestar Roundup, got lost and almost didn't make it to the show. Living here in Texas I can tell you that venturing off the main drag for a mile or two just about anywhere can easily put you somewhere you don't want to be.
Of course getting lost can be part of the fun, as long as you keep your eyes on the road and don't panic. (ha ha)

    Hello,

When our drag racing participation was coming to a close, we had one final talk and discussion about what comes next. Yes, college loomed ahead, better paying jobs were available, and our speed shop was able to keep its head up to buy stuff for our friends.

But, sitting around talking about the next step was enlightening. My brother actually wanted to build two cars. An altered roadster and a street legal RPU that could run in the altered roadster class if needed. The RPU would be fully legal to cruise around our area. It was not one of those builds like a sedan where you can lock it up and walk away, if it became a daily driver.

We had the 671 SBC motor, we had the transmission and the rear end. We just had to make some modifications to make it all fit. This conversation was during the home recovery for my brother. Seeing the empty backyard garage did wonders for our thoughts and what we saw as a future. We talked about going to a 301, which is not that much more than our 292 c.i.

Of course, our mom was the “home nurse” and she would have no brothers, especially one in bandaged recovery wandering around in “that stinky” garage. (the 671 SBC motor-trans-rear and other parts were still under a canvas tarp at Atts Ono’s backyard) So, all our mom could see was an empty backyard garage.

The thought of building another hot rod/drag racer has/had always been in our minds until one day, it was family matters that took over and now, it was only a dream or late night discussions. Hot rods, drag racing, surfing and motorcycles…those are cool midnight discussions for two brothers that had any early history in all of those action, heart pumping activities.

    Perhaps:
