    Nice vid.
And I know they are 'OT', but that BMW is the rats ass.
I wouldn't kick it out of a Custom Car Show
Cole comes across so mellow, cool, sure of himself and what he wants to do.
And as much as I love hot rods, one day I will have a custom.

Thanks Ryan....good stuff. Yes I know it's OT but what year and model is that BMW?

The builds have everything they need and nothing they don’t.

Good vid but still misses the mark. There was an interview done some time ago, when he had just finished his '36 Ford, that captured the man more fully but still not completely. How does one talk about what's going on in his head anyway? You can show his work, but capturing the conceptualization process - his real gift - is probably impossible.

  10. You nailed your description of Cole. Proud to call both him and you friends. I reality we are all just car geeks.

Goddammit if that combination of footage and his words *doesn't* make you want to take whatever you're working on and push it to the absolute most perfectly finished version you are capable of... you're just fucked.

I have yet to see something built by Cole Foster that I don´t like. None of his builds are overdone or exaggerated. He makes it look simple, but I bet it´s not... the video made me regret I sold my E9 Coupe years ago... mine was a 3.0 CS. I still love wrenching on those M30 engines.
    Thanks for sharing this video!

Thanks for sharing that great video, Cole is one of the good guys who have taste and talent. I am stoked that folks appreciate the BMW, uber cool coupe.

WHAT!? Seriously? Hate thieves. Cole realy does have an eye for style. And what he does, he does so well that one may be fooled into thinking is easy.

The BMW has a Pininfarina concept car feel to it, with a bit of custom and a bit of modern. Just right. Pretty much everything in that video that has wheels on in was just right.

  22. Agreed!

I first met Cole in the early 2000s (perhaps at Paso or Famosa?) ... and in 2007, the "Kirk Hammett '36 3wd" and our '32 5wd appeared in the 2007 Goodguys West Coast Nats artwork:

I last chatted with Cole at the 2016 Goodguys West Coast Nats ... he had just finished building a (very HAMB-friendly) ARDUN-powered Deuce Hiboy for a client in Minnesota:

... and I congratulated him on the bitchin' roadster being picked for the legendary "Stroker McGurk Award" (arguably the most prestigious "perpetual trophy" award to be given out at any Goodguys event):

The late Tom Medley’s son Gary (@gtmedley) picked the Hiboy
... and presented the award to @cole and his girlfriend Michelle.

    I can put Cole's vibe in words. Why you havin a hard time @Ryan ? What it does to me I can't put in words, and with that bimmer in there seems I feel at home in my "music died" days of choice. But back to putting his gig in words;

You know it when you see it.

Every top tier custom, fab, rod, race builder has a vibe to their work. Can you spot a Brian Bass? Rolling Bones? D'agostino? Sure. The deeper you delve into custom (kustom?) works it starts to speak to you. We need to accept that it's often a private conversation. ;)

Steel headliner - who on earth would put the effort and time into that? Cole.

  29. I REALLY wanted to do a steel headliner. Cole talked me outta it stating what a bitch it was to do. I saw a pic the other day of someone doing a fiberglass splash OVER the top then cutting it down to fit inside, way simpler
