Checking in for the month! Not much going on in Cheyoming. I did have the coupe out the other day for a quick spin. It is amazing how a little spin around in an old car can help your attitude.

 

Sigh - fat fingers and tired eyes.

 

Checking in for the month. Got the top end back together and fired up. Needs a little tuning.

 

Getting nowhere fast! Maybe something will happen this month.

 

Checked in for my monthly flight. Put a Stipe cam in a 'B' distributor I got a while back. New bushings and polished up the weights etc., the roadster approves....

 

Checking in, reworked fuel supply. Hope to test this weekend.

 

Which Stipe cam grind? Inquiring minds need to know....

Four speed trans or mitchell od would help get past 40mph the stock 3 spd will be your limitation

 

Along with rearend gear ratio.
Personally I like the T5 conversion and if you really want to do it, add a quickchange rearend.
The mods done to motor so far should support you for quite awhile.

Coming back from the high desert. Got some goodies for the T, like a 32 heavy axle!

 

I know that this site is 99.9% A,B, and T Ford . However I'll give it a try. I have '32 Plymouth 4 cyl engine which I would like to convert to insert bearings. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Rich Fox said that he used Alis Chalmers bearings in his engine years ago but couldn't remember what year or Model.

no problem, can you give the crankshaft dimensions and the existing bores in the block? after babbit removed.

Ok. I’ve read more including the link at the beginning of this thread - Jeep T5 trans in torque tube - and I am not clear on the most direct route to do this.

I get that I need a Jeep T5 4x4 trans, an adapter from??? Looks like I need to shorten the torque tube and shaft maybe. I bet there is more to it, right? TM

I was gone for a month and just got back. I put the new battery in and was a bit surprised in that it fired right up and had instant oil pressure on my B block and crank. I was pretty sure it would have all drained down by now. Maybe the cold weather makes it stay longer in the passages???
I have wondered if I had a parasitic draw that was causing a problem but the only things possible would be the Tickin thru time turn signals or the FS ignition. Anybody have problems with either of those drawing down the battery? I have the ignition running directly from the battery through a 39 ignition toggle. Nothing else on that circuit. I run the gauges and everything else thru a push pull switch that stays off. Only thing not wired in that connection is the turn signals and I never had a problem back when it was 6 volt. I had to get a whole new set up when I went 12v. I still have the 6v in a box if anyone is looking for one.

 

Most of our wiring systems ....are home made. As such, unless one is an automotive wiring expert, gremlins will visit and flaws will be exposed.
So, is there a fool proof method to prevent leaks... and dead batteries... when stored for lengthy periods of time?
I found that putting a quality cut off switch in the battery GROUND cable does the job 100 percent of the time. Your choice.
