I've been looking for a 100-4 adjustable windshield setup for years...

If you do find one you will have to get a mortgage
on your house to pay for it!
In the early '70s a local junkyard sold out.
I saw a flatbed tractor trailer leave with 6 Healeys
from the '50s on it. I'm not trying to give you any hope,
but maybe an older-timer than me might know where that load went.
    Good luck!
    You too rodi!

It has been a v8 healey since the early 60s. When i first heard of it ,it had a 260 ford in it, when i first saw it there was a 289, and when i bought it there was a 427 side oiler. I didnt get the side oiler and im kinda fond of sbc motors so i went with the dz 302. I have been told that it ran at the deer park drag strip in the late 60s , but i am yet to find any proof.

Well, i have driven the healey, and its back to the 34 made out of junk. I have managed to cobble together the quarters good enough for now, and i am settling in for a long stint of welding together the quilt of a body. You need to tackle the 200 hundred dollar nomad next after seeing what you did with the coupe.

The 34 3 window looks really nice. All the work you do is perfect. I have a 5 window that was all scrap parts but it is nowhere the same quality build. I had a single question about the windshield you posted that it is 6 1/2 inches. Is that the glass or the frame? maybe a second question about the angle of the a pillars how many degrees back? Thanks and Love what you have done!

The windshield is 6.5 inches in glass. As for the angle, i dont know, it just looked right.
The frame under the healey is made from 4 inch chromoly, and i modeled it after a cobra. I figure if its good enough for shelby, its good enough for me.

Thanks! Just looking at a piece of junk that may need the same treatment. State law says 6" minimum for street rod windshield. The only option here in Maine.

Beware: in Pennsylvania they measure window vertically - not just the length of the glass that may be angled

Same here in Maine. It is kind of a pain but at least we don't need a title.

The hardest part was finding so much disguarded junk parts from real 33-34 fords. Every piece on this thing was a bent chunk taken from a car so that car could replace it with a usable piece.

Jim, have you a wall thickness on that wavy Plymouth axle? Mine sounds (and weighs) thinner than my wallet!

Not mine. It weighs a ton! And , when I altered it I was welding on my highest setting and it penetrated like crazy with no blow through.

Scraps. I have no door frames, no door structures and no hinges or latches. What I do have in my pile of crap is a set of slides for a hearse, to push the casket in and out, so naturally I’m thinking I need a sliding roof like a fighter plane! I know some of you are going to hate this idea, but remember, I started with junk, so I’m not ruining anything. After looking through hundreds of vintage salt flats and drag racing photos, I am convinced that this I period correct for the era of early racing, in the spirit of innovation and “use what you got” attitudes that these pioneers had and , what the hell, I like it!, not to mention, with the roof open it looks a little like a Vicky, and who doesn’t like a Vicky?

    I like it. A lot.

If the slider deal turns out to be impractical you could hinge the top; sort of like the hinged body of a funny car.

However, with your skills I have no doubt that you'll make the sliders work. I've been watching this since you started it a year and a half ago. I'm continually amazed at your ideas and execution and at the same time humbled by my own.

If the roof don’t slide well, I’m thinking power tilt body, like the Chevy, but it’s been done, so I really want the roof exit to work. I am having so much fun with this build, I am really excited to slide her open and closed for real.
