  3. LOL. Yep...back in those heady days there were lots of young thrill seekers. Some did drag racing, some did sky diving, some did drugs...me? The only really dangerous thing I did was unprotected sex.

  10. Great video. I was only 11 in 69 but I loved the music. A bunch of my friends were older so I heard the stories, fun times. I was a concert fanatic in the 70s and saw some great bands. My all time favorite live band was The Who back when Kieth Moon was still alive. My biggest disappointment was Led Zeppelin. I had all their albums and got great seats. They were terrible, took a few minutes to even tell which song they were playing. The venue might of had something to do with it but I was so bummed that my buzz didn’t even help.

  11. Hopefully one of our British members has some stories about Radio Caroline. Most of the airways were owned by the BBC and they didn’t like Rock and Roll. Some enterprising fellows bought old fishing boats and used them to transmit music to millions of teenagers in England. They anchored in international waters to avoid the law.

According to George Christie(former President of the Ventura chapter Hells Angels), the crowd started pushing up on the Angel's bikes and some fighting naturally ensued. Consequently, Balin started saying he wasn't going to perform. For whatever reason an Angel named Animal was sent to talk to Balin. Balin started getting mouthy and telling Animal to "go F himself". Animal gave him an opportunity to chill out saying "I don't want you talking to me that way". Yet Balin kept running his mouth and was subsequently knocked out.

Yeah, my grandparents had to make sure to cut short any social visits or activities, so they could get back home in plenty of time to watch.

I saw Santana at the Henry J. Kaiser auditorium next to Laney College in Oakland. My pal from english lit, Steve Kupka said "my friends from the mission are playing an afterclass gig, they are called the Santana Blues Band. Steve played sax with Tower of Power. I went onto become a stage carpenter with BGP Still have my Dead all access laminate. Best all time bay area musician in my opinion was Dave Miniketti played a wild guitar and accordian, his pop had amusic shop in Oakland.

Ron's photo made me remember this one. As a rule, I don't have my picture
taken, and if someone does I generally throw them away. This is one of few that
    I've
kept. Taken in 1965, wearing my "Manfred Mann" pants. I took some grief
in small town America because of those. The next day at school, I got an
unexpected, and unwanted, haircut while one of the athletic coaches guarded
the bathroom door. I was suspended for three days for leaving school without
permission while the scissor wielding jocks most likely got a pat on the back.
That's when I developed my attitude problem.

If that had happened to me I would have come back the next day without changing anything, f**ked hair and all.

Jimmy, not a bad idea but I was 15, rattled and pissed, not necessarily
    a clear thinker.

Deuces, after three days I tempered myself a bit but the damage had been
done. Bad attitude was now my constant partner and nothing like that
happened again, not to any kid. I got the last laugh anyway. Here I am, a
righteous citizen, still with a goofy streak. Many of the "straights", the jerks,
ended up with nowhere jobs, drug or alcohol problems or some type of
    miserable life. Just rewards.
