Forgive me if most of the pics are Buick-centric, I’m going for Buick parts and am in the section of the yard where the Buicks are located

If that's just the Buick section, the rest of the yard must be huge!!

Not really, there are probably a few hundred. There is another yard nearby that needs help. The owner is 85 and may call it quits. He doesn’t think anyone wants junk parts. Denton’s Auto Parts. I’m afraid it will get crushed out when he passes away if not enough interest. It also has a few hundred cars

  14. Tell Mr. Denton to have an auction. People come out from all over the place when there is a salvage yard auction. Problem is, as of now, nobody knows about his yard, an advertised auction would put him on the map.

  15. Where in TN is Denton's? Might be worth a trip up there.

Exit 407 off I-40 to Hwy 66 north to Hwy 25 & 70 (aka) Asheville Hwy. 2366 West Hwy. 25 & 70, New Market, TN 37820. 865-933-7370. About 25 miles east of Knoxville. Also know that it will be a social visit, Clark is old school and doesn’t appreciate being rushed. Plan on spending time socializing and conversation. He has some interesting tales to tell and enjoys the company. I hope some of you can rescue some parts or basket case cars.

People used to know about his yard, there was a magazine article written some years ago. But since then business has fallen off.

  19. I will plan a social visit if I get up to see Mr. Denton. We had an old guy like that near Dalton GA by the name of Arthur Richmond who died about 20 years ago. If Arthur didn't like you, it didn't matter how much money you had. If he liked you, he'd give you stuff. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup benefitted from Arthur liking me.

The yard owners are good people and I would like to see as much old tin saved as possible, rather than knowing it got crushed and made into new cars. Besides I can’t use everything

  28. Thanks for sharing.....that wagon doesn't look bad from this side - is that a little roof rot or my eyes ?
