Love the blue one. Nothing wrong with the purple one just like the blue one better.

Heres my 55 210 post. Been working on her for a year now. This car has been in my family since the early 70s. It was my dads car but he passed away 26 years ago and shes just been sitting in the woods. I finally drug her out and with alot of help from some very good family members we got her this far and im planning on putting some miles on her soon!

More on this one soon. Survivor Del Ray my friend picked up recently. The wheels and duals on the 6 are the only deviation from stock. So far..

My Dad bought a cashmere blue one in April of '55, it took our family on trips all over the U.S. for many years.
IMAG0049.JPG This one was one I had a bunch of fun with in the early 70's but just a 1/4 mile at a time. Dual quad 409/4 spd.

Terry Spears, who grew up a few doors down the street from me in Tulsa, OK, owned this '55. His dad called us
"Alley Rats" so Terry had Ron Myers do a little artwork on the deck lid.

Not the same car, but the "look" from 1959-62 during our high school days.

    Hello,

One of my friend’s had a 1955 two door post sedan painted a stock black and white pattern. We put on Traction Master bars and lowered the whole car for a slight rake. It had a 265 and we added a 4 barrel carb. He was next in line of my high school floor shift projects in the auto shop/metal shop. He wanted to be one of the only 55 Chevy two door sedans in our area that had a floor shift and not a column shift mechanism.

We had just made and installed a Hydramatic shifter for a 51 Pontiac Sedan and everyone wanted one for their cars. The 55 had a stick shift, so I was already in the planning stage to get one drawn up and put together. It would be a lot more intricate, so, I would need his 55 Chevy during class time and after school to complete the job.

My friend had a good paying afterschool job that no one else had. He was not about to give up two-three days of working to put in a floor shifter for his Chevy. We started to cut the hole in the floor board, had the basic metal shaped and welded/bolted together in raw form. But it was taking longer than expected, so he couldn’t leave the car for us to work on in the afternoon.

So, his dad stepped in and bought one of those over the counter 3 speed stick shift kits from Pep Boys or another accessory shop in Northeast Long Beach. We put that in, during one auto shop class period. Now, he had a 55 Chevy with a floor shift that looked like the 4 speeds in the newer Chevy sedans.

His 55 Chevy had the look of a fast car and it held its own on Cherry Avenue. But, with a stock 4 barrel 265, there was not that much power to overcome the bigger dual quad 283 Chevys and my 348 Impala. So, he was satisfied with the fast, but custom look for his Chevy. The style and stance of this black/white 55 Chevy 2 door post sedan just had the feel of cruising around in a cool car.

His girlfriend just made the look of the Chevy sedan that much cooler. Actually, being as good looking as she was, she made any car look good. It did not matter if it was fast, it just had that feel. I spent many hours cruising around in the sedan and it was just as cool as being in a custom racecar going down the street.

Plus, if we had those funny CHP hats, we could have pranked a lot of car loads of people. Ha!

This was my dad's '55 in 1963. He bought it used in 1959 from Parkwood Chevrolet in Lakewood. Traded in his black '49 Pontiac fastback for it. My mom learned to drive in this car at the age of 32 and it started my passion for tri-five Chevys. Dad's '55.jpg

Finally got the front springs in along with new ball joints and shocks. Rear got shocks and 2" blocks. Car had a 1/2" lean to the driver's side before I did this and it still has it. I'm thinking the leafs are tired?

Has a slight forward rake and I don't think I'll go any lower, besides the rear wheels are a bitch to get on and off as is.

    Funny story.
Was scanning the W.W.W. for material and I'm going through a discussion on 55's and looking at photos of a gennie yellow/white 210 sedan and I'm mostly done and I realize that sure looks familiar and guess what, yep, same car.
