Rikster posted this earlier today.... One of the interesting Custom Projects that I really enjoy seeing updates from is Janne Lepola’s 1949 Ford #ShoeboxFordPatricia Kustom. The car started out as a very rusty 1949 Ford 4-door to which a ’53 Packard roof was added, 49-51 Chevy rear fender sections and a whole lot of other parts from other cars and home made stuff. I really love the creativity on this one, so many things going on, but still everything works together on this very radical Kustom. Far from done, but “ready” in primer for the #kustomkultureshow2020.

  6. Well, just when you thought you've seen just about everything, someone comes along and breaks the mold.

My favorite chopped 40 Coupe. Don Lowe's masterpiece

  17. Yeah, I agree. You can kinda sorta see where they were going with this but they didn't get there....

  19. The door handle detail is a definite WTF....

To me it looks like they were going for a late '40s/early '50s Jaguar look with a bit of '30s Auburn thrown in.

Stunner! Aside front the significant lowering and maybe the spots and paint, is this basically a stocker? So nice, I think I like the side wearing the skirt more but either look but either is beautiful.

  27. Looks like a low stocker to me. Not a custom.

    from Fremont NE

I've seen that '40 coupe in person in Pomona about 10 years ago. Don Lowe most certainly did not "ruin the car". More cuts, welds, and massaging metal than I care to think about. Study the lines of the car, how the work improved them. I've also seen some poorly executed chops on 39'40 coupes where the side rear glass gets too small and the 'tulip' panel, between the top of the deck lid and the bottom of the rear glass gets too stretched out, long. But, this ain't one of "those" cars.
