Haha! Our local dépanneur/general store does their own bacon made from locally raised livestock. Yummy...
"were" or "are" ? Would love to know more. I've been looking for a reason to make my wife mad at me...
I certainly feel the Western quadrant of Canada has a more plentiful presence of historic images in Hotrod/Custom however I believe that may be that the East are bigger Hoarders of everything including the pics... It doesn't help that no doubt much of the old guard in Canadian Bacon really aren't that connected or computer savvy...so the pics and Gospel stagnate...

Seen Ronnie Hawkins car plenty of times at Jack's. V8 60 hp car , if I remember right . I believe Cliff Love may own it now .
Agree, the times that I saw the car it was a hot rod Not stock appearing like the photo. It was a period rod and it looked like it was built in the day. I liked it. I had never seen the above photo before now. Thanks for posting. It's nice to see life in this Canadian Bacon thread. I hope it continues.
That's all I found in search on Ronnie's T...that pic said 1973... I really enjoy the Canadian Hotrod Scene...especially pre 65 the older the better, we were all influenced by the go fast movement and the Hotrod Mags that flooded the nation's on both sides of the fence...and I'm glad I learned a bit about Jack...he was into Hotrods it seems...AND he' still with us...maybe some more pics of these Older Hotrodders/Customizers and their Rides will surface...I'm all Eyes...
ha ha Jack at one time owned my coupe..... I bought quite a bit from him in the past, my 392 that is in my truck,... Jack owned it.. a complete 392 stocker... got it in 2001. Yes.. the last I saw Jack was about 3 years back.... he is the hotrodder's hotrodder. He actually introduced me to the area I live now and there are many many early cars local. He does know a lot of people.Since we moved and this Covid bullshit...I have not seen him in a while. Jack still had the Ronnie Hawkins Car when I saw it about 4 years ago..... His home was FILLED and had a little scrap yard in the back.He used to come by and drink a beer or 2.... He is a consumate Gear Head. He owned a Ted Hogan replica race car, the Tony Macre car roadster.... god.. so many A's,32's,trucks cars etc etc... always had tons of neat and rare speed equipment.I remember he had a 33 sedan delivery .. all there but in pieces....stacked like cord wood. I thing he sold the TM Roadster... had it forever....Yea.. Jack is in the know..I hope he is well.
...I'd probably unscrew my Head driving by your place... Talk about being surrounded by possibilities...

Not a HAMBer. My buddy Craig, lives a few minutes away from me. Ontario survivor built back in the 60s. Here's some pictures from a cruise weekend last summer with some other Ontario guys and gals...
...Thanks for connecting the dots @Speedy Canuck...Craig is pretty fortunate...Theres nothing better than a Vintage Survivor... No Hamb but Canadian Bacon and a nice cut at that...
Us Canadian old pharts to me it's known as peameal bacon. My Grandmother use to fry it up and serve it with eggs for breakfast......yum!
Thanks for those pictures. I'm starting to miss those cruises to car shows and going to swap meets. I'm guessing the Bothwell Ontario swap meet and car show is not gonna happen again this year already.
Spring startup today!! Let’s see some startup vids of the Canadian bacon boys!! https://www.instagram.com/p/CNLDDbxnfat/?igshid=17plwrlaetyff Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Where has all the Canadian Bacon gone?? Attended the Roadmen gathering at the A&W last night. Good crowd and some nice rides. Can't wait for real shows, drag racing and swap meets to come back. Oh and rumour is Deuce Days 2022 is gonna happen. All over social media out west here right now that an announcement from the City that it's going to go is coming soon. Here's hoping!!
