@lothiandon1940...I've ordered 2 JF bodies and both were just terrible. Both need a ton of work, but doable. The entire body was covered with porosity, read pin-holes. Not deep, but showed up in primer paint. Here a tip: if you're not using lacquer paint, buy a high quality fingernail polish called "ridge filler". Use the brush in the cap. Figure on paying around $10 for high quality. The stuff goes on thick and runs like to was melted, liquid lead...so smooth and fills every gap, scratches and pin holes! The stuff is magic. Ask your gal, she knows! The other body, a chopped '32 3 window, has flash and ungodly streaks...like "wtf" kind of junky finish! Anyways, both were dirt cheap @ $10 and $7, so I can't really complain....just sayin'. Mike..

Ya quick it wasn't much this time ...just a "junk yard" a bunch of 36 ford stuff ,some custom parts and coupe and roadster conversion parts included is the 60's issued AMT 3 in 1 36 Ford coupe/roadster kit box also looked like there was even a old Monogram hot rod roadster in the mess. But I haven't received it yet ...7 days late so far ,due to bad weather...coming from Florida, last night it was in Pittsburgh? Anyways your comment on your earlier post about the models in the old R&C and others gave me a idea. I have alot of the old magazines and they do have some pretty good stuff on models, tips ,builds , general info on new releases and some cool old ads. I thought I would post some of them occasionally if anyone is interested in seeing some of the old stuff. Here's a sample...if its not for this thread I will remove them and stop posting them. UPDATE: Zoomies in the works now. Left side is OK. Tube ends need to be capped somewhat as the ends don't run even with the plug panels. The line runs upwards, so 1, 3 & 5 shortened, #7 sits good. Right side not so lucky, the radius is not tight enough, but since the tubes have been shortened already, they don't fit in the tube bender anymore as being too short now....my bad. Anyways, here the proper scale 2,5" pipes in aluminum; Right side tubes in brass are in the works, more soon on this.... Mike..
Folks, just an off-topic FYI now. I have a bunch of brown long neck bottles in stock, the grill is already smoking, and mild temps with a blue sky today. I made it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me. .........Received the '61 Starliner body from Jimmy Flintstone and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Lots of flashing, took about an hour to trim all of it, but I was expecting that. No big deal. No hood, so now I need to trim and remove the hood from the Styline '61 Galaxie kit I'm using for parts, (all trim, etc.). Any advice on how to cleanly remove the hood would be greatly appreciated. The old hot butter knife technique I would have used as a kid just won't work!.....Thanks, everyone....Don.

......It was a bit of work and quite tedious, but I managed to cut out and remove the hood from the donor model. Now on to the next challenge.
My last ebay purchase.....not really , I have a 57 Crysler 300 thats supposed to be here tomorrow, anyways its the one that was supposed to be here on the 19th last month but due to bad weather, it came from Florida, it showed up yesterday. It was a what they call a junk yard lot, usually just a bunch of parts ...but this one was a vintage 36 amt 3in1 customizing kit trophy series ...that means Cool. Not alot of parts ,but it had parts that I needed for another build and a vintage Monogram Green Hornet t roadster, it had been assembled but was coming apart,was also in the box, and the box was in very nice condition and it also had the original instruction sheet, they are really cool for that series they have extra customizing info. I got the Hornet reassembled ,except a couple of suspension parts , have them ...just saw that I forgot to put them on...all the parts seemed to be there. Some more shots of the "Green Hornet" I had some Hornet parts that I got with a past "Junk yard lot" purchase, it included some parts from a later release kit and a couple parts from a vintage released kit...easiest way to tell the difference is the color ...vintage kits are molded in a darker green and the tires are different...if just looking at parts, there's other things also . My last ebay purchase showed up today. Nice kit , new still factory sealed, winning bid..mine..$17.99 + $10.10 shipping, not bad I guess. I really like 57 Chryslers, years back I had a 57 Chrysler Windsor wagon,before wagons where cool, it was lowered ...fun cruiser. Well this sucks ....please don't hate. That 57 Chrysler 300 is a cool kit...but like I said it's for a up coming build.....and I only got it for parts , I tried other sources for just the parts I needed...no luck. The only parts I need from it are the headlights and about a inch of each front fender , where the headlights mount. But I am going to see about a 57 Chrysler wagon resin body , then I can use the rest of the kit, most of it, and build one like my old wagon. Thanks quick..you made my day , morning ?, I haven't been called that in year's, been called alot of other things.... I will cut you in on what I'm doing ...like I need to start another build.... My build is based on the 56 Chevrolet "Miss Taboo" . If you don't know about it's history, look it up online or here on the H.A.M.B., the car has some very interesting history and it's current care taker is with us on this site. I first saw the car at a show in Portland Oregon 1980..the year I graduated H.S. ...it was black and red then...and thats the version that I'm basing mine on. Will see how it goes...if anyone is not familiar with the car , look it up ,it got a very cool history/story and it's still bringing home the awards.
