    It’s been almost 35 years since I first saw that Mercury. Bailon built as I recall, even had the original custom interior design in it, swivel seats too. Owned by a guy named Sterling Ashby at the time.

    It was the Sonny Morris Merc who was a member of Satans Angels along with Jerry Shanagon and Frank Livingston back in the 50's . Joe built it but did not chop it. Sterling was Mr Merc and if you needed parts for your Merc he was THE man. He had it chopped and restored the car and owned and showed it for many years. Mercland bought him out a number of years ago but did not last long. Sterlings wife Kathy in recent years still wrote some articals for the MSRA and ocasionally listed some parts in the classifieds . The Merc still exist but has been redone in a purplish color with big wheels and is either posted on this thread or the 49 to 51 Merc thread. Sad as I do not believe the guy who re did it had any idea of the cars history or just did not give a dam!:(:( Larry
