Customs My Chevy Ambulance, before and after, I'm getting older now so I hired a part time nurse.

I like the new color choice, but putting 30's style artillery wheels on a 50's car doesn't work-

Wheels, engine, transmission, etc get updated/improved- that is the essence of hot-rodding.

 

Did someone mention an ambulance?

 

I kinda like the artillery wheels. Gives it a bit of an, I don't know, maybe Cuban flair with the orange paint? Not really "hot rodding" but then an ambulance wouldn't have been the hot rodders' first choice either.

 

The Chevy Ambulance has SBC and Mopar front suspension with torsion bars. They only made four of these with body by Fisher. They were sent to the Army for evaluation. The next year they made about 150. Pretty rare I think.

SBC engine with torsion bar front suspension. I hear you about the Artillery wheels but I like them and this was originally a US Army Ambulance so I thought they might give it a more utilitarian look.

 

Voted orange. I also like the trim, except a mini skirt would really enhance the look IMO.

I like the later orange version, it looks too much like a Mortuary vehicle in black.

Looks like they have been modified with Halogen bulbs.

 

Voting for the black because the orange is too distracting...
