Praying for you guys w no electricity at all, hope this mess passes soon, I feel for yall. @kidcampbell71 We live right next door to you in Lucas, our power went out for a couple hours last night and maybe one hour today, no big deal.
I am so sorry for everyone and their families who don’t have power. I’m on the other spectrum losing power during hurricanes but not the freezing insane cold. Please stay safe.
Lucas !!! Yes, sir. Right down the way. Lucas Wally World was closed today. Crazy. Never seen that, before. Had to run to Kroger's .. .. which may as well been a Cowboys game. Place was packed to the gills !! No milk. Went to Braum's & the line was out the door, everyone with 2, 3 & 4 gallons of milk. LOL I just stood there with my one gallon purchase. I dunno' what the hell anyone does with 3 and 4 gallons of milk. Sheez' !! We are the lucky ones, yes. Hope all is well with you, and yours. .. and whatever the local dairy cows need.
Hahaha !!! I can't wait, for that !! I don't even know what people think. "Honey, the power is out. It's freezing. Better go buy all the milk !!" Guess it goes with their summer's toilet paper bank.
LOL!! I never thought of that! I had to laugh! You got me! But it seems like is was colder and stayed colder back then. I know I had to cut ice most of the winter days for livestock. Sometimes it would be four inches thick! 48 pounds...... you got me! Bones
Hell -talked to my cousin's in Sac Town this afternoon and they were out on the patio having brunch ! But they remember this past summer when they were out of power...
Yep...hope all is okay ! Oh that Lucas - it's where I found my stolen 2+2 in 1993 just down from the bait shop.
My co-workers down in Houston are sayin' what the heck is the white stuff ? Ran a few calls today - big one about 30 miles south of Dallas in Midlothian....making sure my customers can help you - their customers.
It is definitely a cold spell. We took my wife’s non heater equipped OT 60’s mopar to dinner tonight and at 48 degrees it was so cold she had to use a blanket to keep her legs warm! Sorry, I could not help myself. Lol Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Milk, eggs and bread. Best I can figure is French toast is everyone’s winter storm survival meal lol.
Ain't that the truth. When Jr. was at home we averaged about a gallon every 2 days. Should never have a calcium deficiency I guess.
The schools have been closed here for 3 days. Most things are normal. All of us old guys laugh at how this works now. When we were in grade school, there were no such thing as snow days. The few that didn't make it in got make up work to do and that was the extent of it. I will say that living in a rural area, people were more self sufficient. When they ran mud routes, the parents would take the kids to the highway to meet the bus. Those days are long gone. I did see a plumber with a large space heater trying to thaw outside wall pipes on a house. We have many residents from south of here that have never seen below zero before. It's all a learning process in life: new environment, new rules.
Ya know...I don't mind the cold. Hell...I love it! I camp (in a tent, no less), hike, etc in the cold. But ice fishing is about the dumbest thing out there. I gotta be moving. I can't just sit there looking at a hole in the ice.
