This reminded me when I took the Hudson over to USA in 2018 we were on R66 and stayed in Shamrock for the night. Next morning as we left we found this yard that was mostly Edsels with a bit of other stuff(Model A Coupe). As we were taking photos a pickup pulled up and it is the owner of the property. He explained that his family had the Ford (Edsel) dealership in Shamrock. We were short of time and he was off somewhere else but apparently he had the "good" cars at his home but we didn't get to see them.

Auctioning it all off today. 9 degrees feels like -2 with cold north wind. Yes auction is outside.

The weather didn't seem to bother people too much. There was no lack of bidders. Some stuff brought stupid money, but yet there were also some deals to be had.

  17. That '40 Ford sedan delivery is interesting in that it is a Deluxe. Most sedan deliveries were in Standard trim, but they could be ordered in Deluxe trim. Most '40 Deluxe sedan deliveries were bought by funeral homes and used for flower cars or picking up bodies.

My understanding were 1940 sedan delivery’s had the deluxe front, the 1941’s used the standard front end. There was a thread sometime back that mentioned there were only a few 40’s that used the standard front. My grandparents had one on their property for storage when I was a kid, I remember looking through it, I must have been about 8. The property got cleared, only much later did I find out what it was.
