Uhm, @uncleandy 65 You ever get the feeling of dejavu? Kinda like you cut copy and pasted the exact same photo in the exact same thread. The green car directly above and the tangerine/white former 4 dr 54 five pics previous. You already put 'em up on June 23 and 24th, a mere 2 pages ago in this thread. Just sayin', the repeats and the bone stockers in other Kustom and Hot Rods threads are wearin' thin.

So as to add something to the thread other than my brief rant, here's one I personally snapped with my camera. At GoodGuys Colorado 2019. I lean toward lowering these cars, but I know the raised up look has its fans too. A pretty beefy I Beam sandwiched between the frame and the already beefy bolt on front suspension.

    Hello,

The 1953 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop was slightly lowered with a coil already taken out. But, with 6 surfboards and two guys, the car was a very low cruiser going to the beach. (possibly illegal in the lowered stance) No, we did not go to the Huntington Beach Pier, but down the coast, near Sunset Beach. It was much safer and the waves were fun. The 53 Chevy hardtop had chromed reversed rims, but we may have put on some Moon Racing Discs during that period of time.
upload_2020-8-5_3-36-23.png @Blake 27 similar to how it arrived in 1960

Hot rod parts (wheels/rims) experimenting was the order of the day. Our group had one full set of Moons that got moved around everyone’s cars at one time or another. Those were some fun times for us in high school. Real surfers or not, what a combo, hot rods/cruisers and a bunch of teenage/football surfers. (or want to be surfers…)

Then a year later, it was the drive to TJ for some all white tuck and roll upholstery, including the trunk and roof/package tray. The last step was a very good looking green color. It was one of the only cars that had the custom car treatment instead of the high performance upgrades on other Chevy sedans. It may have been that the 6 cylinder motor was not as powerful as the Chevy V8 motors.

The drag races against a 51 Pontiac and 63 Chevy Nova were classic show and no go races, that needed some jet propulsion to make it exciting. Teenage fun…what else was there to do on night time cruises?

Needed another car like a hole in the head but I'm hoping to make a quick thrash to have a beater for the summer. (the irony of it being parked beside my long stalled A project as well as the 261 for my 52 GMC is not lost on me)
1953 150 sedan. All OG save for the 12v conversion a previous owner did. Hasn't ran in 5+ years, needs some TLC but shouldn't be too bad. Already started tearing it down.

Meet Agnes! (that was the little old lady that owned this '54) I just brought her home from Wisconsin.... She is a sweet little all original 210, same family owned since 1958... until now!
It's time to make her a "BAD GIRL"! Going to flake her roof, pinstripe her all up, bag her, wide white her, and put a nasty little V8 in her and make her purrrrr like a "Tom Cat in a milk house"... lol!

Oct is Halloween season ... so brought this thread back from the dead.

Saw this mild ragtop recently on e bay. Sure wish Chevy would have designed these from the factory with the '55 hooded headlights. They look like they belong there. Nosed and peaked hood and shaved bumper bolts on a California bumper really clean it up.
