I am not sure convertibles make good customs. Everyone that I see looks real good until the driver in in the driver's seat. Usually his head is equal to the top of the windshield or sticking over the top.

I agree...... We need a class to teach guys how to drive Kustoms. One of the chapters, you are supposed to sit low in the front seat. I always think of a Burt Reynolds movie where the guys head is over the windshield.

I think you are the second person ever to notice that! They are from a 4-door.

This almost appears to be a 4-dr with the top cut off.

  19. Those are some great pics of Paul Mathis' Alley Oop in the early version! Thanks for posting Richard! In typical Paul Mathis fashion there was tons of chrome, paint and interior detail. Paul is one of the mostly unknown builders that deserves way more recognition than he gets.

Here are a few pictures of his wild Plymouth:

If I'm not mistaken, his most recent build is this awesome Ranchero:

He also built an incredible '36 Ford roadster in the mid 90s that I can't seem to find pictures of right now. Paul has done more with customs in the last 20 years than most folks would do in a lifetime! What makes it even better is he's a heck of a nice guy! E

  20. @richards69impala is on a roll today! These are the first color pics I've seen of "Trouble in Paradise" in the brown or maroon. We covered this sled way back in 2017 over on the W.E.H.T. thread. It was #69. Here are a few pictures I have saved of it--but no brown/maroon shots.

More great pics to add to the collection. Thanks Richard! E
