I can imagine some people get a little "puckered" seeing those louvered 28 fenders!
    Or are they 29's.

  16. Joe ran A/GS. We would have only ever raced each other in a street eliminator run off, but that never happened. But, yes, it was early 60's.

    Hello,
On most hot rods and old trucks, one does get surprised when something as simple as hood louvers are seen in place. This Ford truck was built well, had the mild custom approach to hot rodding and was a standout at a big time neighborhood home tour and car show. It was the hood louvers that attracted my wife to take a photo of the truck.

She mentioned that those were similar to the ones we had on the hood of the 2nd 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery we repaired and owned for 5 years. As she was an avid driver of the sedan delivery. It made running around doing errands and visiting friends a little off beat and rather cool, arriving in the red 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery. Arriving at Thanksgiving family dinners and winter holiday gift exchanges in the 40 sedan delivery was interesting as most did not know what a sedan delivery was, except that it was used for parts and deliveries from businesses.

She looked at those rows of hood louvers every time she drove the sedan delivery. On some cold mornings, heat elements, like heat signature waves came out of the louvers, making it an odd thing, while sitting at a stop light.

upload_2021-2-16_3-32-36.png There were two rows on each side, spaced apart from the centerline.

So, when she was taking photographs of the local car show (to surprise me) in front of some historic OC homes, she told her sister that those hood louvers were also on our sedan delivery hood. That was a nice surprise when I was able to see the photos see took at this home tour and car show. I did not go because it was a day with her sister, doing “sisterly” together things. But, those photos were the highlight of the day. Thank you, V.

...gotta be a challenge to get in and out of this clean machine...flip top maybe?...Pinstriping really jazzes up the single row of side hood Louvers and it certainly has a nice balance of chrome...

A 40 Ford without Louvers is like a day without Sunshine...

Are 56 Ford Pickups stock that way?...never had one...
