I've been playing with some old glass. Going to try it on my own. I have 2 windshields and all the old side glass. If it doesn't go well I will be on here asking for help. Back glass will not need cut.

  2. Unless the shape changed the side glass should fit. It just wount roll up as far.

  4. You drive here and put me in a heat pump, bring patterns and your windshield, I'll cut them, and we'll call it even :p:D

I have one of those van axles in my car. Shortened the long side 8" to center the housing.

I'm a bit ahead of you, my new shop (I know it doesn't look new..) is far enough along that I got under the hood of the new toy today and tried to figure out where the $%@# ballast resistor goes, as apparently the previous owner didn't think it needed one.

They're 20 footers but sorry to disappoint, they're composite paralams. I got 4 of them plus about 40 I-joists out of a warehouse demo for $300.

I found the ballast resistor hole in the Corvette firewall. Turns out it takes a special clutch head screw, right into the fiberglass. Or a wood screw..

    Kinda weird place for one

Salvaging not one, but two 32 heavy axles I found as a running gear under a buddy's propane tank. Close to getting done. Then to Okie Joe for a drop and drill. 1612555359890.jpeg

Hooked up the battery tender and checked tire pressures. Gave the motor a wipe down. I like it clean. 20200625_204208.jpg

  28. Worked on the start of a grille surround today; stupid rod wasn't very cooperative in matching the shape of the grille; even though it seemed to last week when I bent it. Eventually capitulated and I tacked it to the mounting tabs. Took way longer than it should have.

Made a new mount for my steering rack. When I got my Bantam it had a Corvair box mounted in front of the grill. No room for rear steering so found a circle track rack narrow enough. Took a ton of adjusting but got it steering and handling great. Doing some winter maintenance I noticed the mount I had made was bent. So I made a new one out of 2x4 box steel.
