You’re quite the artist! Back in the 1960s, I’d walk home from school past this house with the tail end of a baby blue ‘40 in the garage. It must have been his High School ride many years prior, as the rest of the car was covered in moving blankets with crap piled on top of his coupe. I never saw the whole car but knew right then, that was the hot rod for me!

I bought a ‘39 Ford coupe when I got out of the Navy. Unfortunately, sold it along the way for a roadster that I couldn’t live without (another vice). I finally picked up this ‘40 to scratch the original itch! Been running the wheels off it since.

The Navy has Art school? Looks like you paid attention!

A louvered firewall? Guess you wouldn't need a heater.

Billy, the Navy doesn't have art school, I was learning how to be an aircraft electrician and would draw in my spare time. Thanks

  20. Hey @Pist-n-Broke, here's some shots I took from Booger's first trip to the NSRA MidAm Nats, in 2003.
Jerry has a great sense of humor, so there are TONS of clever tricks hidden on Booger.

  22. Thanks, Rob. They are fun and showing the many miles of use. Well...the coupe and stake truck, that is. Other than a Comet and Scotch-Brite bath and a coating of boiled linseed oil, the panel exterior is pretty much as I found it. I've pretty much been driving it as my "daily" since December, despite that it has no weather stripping or heater other than the junkyard seats with bun warmers.

  24. I love the Exhaust trick. My kind of ride for sure. A wolf in Sheep's clothing.

One of my favorite shots of Jerry's Booger, coming into the parking lot of the St Louis Area Hot Rod Hundred a couple years ago.

Yes... the bright red deluxe was a basket case brought in many years ago from Nebraska
The Standard was originally from South Africa and is RHD... nice car.

Doug, that is awesome, I built a gold model 40 when I was a kid and it sported corvette hub caps so I was so thrilled when you posted those pictures. And now its going to have an original set of 40 bumpers when the weather gets good. It cost a lot to do that but the car deserves them.
