  3. Wow, you just don't see junkyards like that anymore. I hope people are buying from him so he doesn't crush them all out.

Grab all you want, there are other fine curved glasses there. And grills, not much sheet metal, but some good stainless! 4B97F93F-1236-4F14-B75F-A107A77D802C.jpeg 34055014-16A2-47DE-9557-667B37E22E63.jpeg 7E33C98E-2E26-425C-8CF0-4F0E50BB7762.jpeg

There’s another close by and the owner thinks that no one is doing old cars anymore and no longer buy junk parts for ‘60s and older. I’m trying to convince him otherwise, and could use some help. I’m afraid his yard may go away soon without buyers. He’s in his 80s.

    Where is that yard, Rusty?

  11. NoNoNo.....they are a dime a dozen - every wrecking yard has one - that's all that's left of most of them. Been dealing in 1964/65 Cuda's since the mid 70's - out of the few I've kept - only sold one to a guy that had his painter take a little off the glass. Have two in stock if any one needs one - one is tinted.

The first yard is Sonny’s at 1375 Smith Hollow Rd., Blaine, Tn. 865-933-9137. Second yard is Denton’s 2366 West Hwy25 & 70, New Market, TN 37820, 865-933-7370. Clark Denton is in his 80s and convinced that no one is buying junk parts anymore. I’m worried that his yard will go away without an influx of people wanting parts or basket case cars. That would be tragic, there are still a lot of good parts there, probably not much sheet metal from the ‘50s or older, but stainless, mechanical, etc.

  13. Thanks Rusty for putting it out there for some to at least to come look. We had a mostly old Mopar's somewhere in central Texas get crushed recently that had a lot of 40's - 50's and 60's. It was know by a few Mopar guys but they would never let anyone in on where it was - they took a lot of pictures of the cars getting crushed and the crushed piles of cars - but they did save a few.

  14. If you guys know of old yards like these, you need to let others know where they are. You can't buy everything and others need to know about it before they all get crushed out. I don't think there are any around this area anymore.

Yes, please don’t try to hoard the junkyard for yourself. Share the wealth. There is enough to go around. Especially when we all alert others to happy hunting grounds. We’re all more likely to get the parts we need.

More pics from the yard! A side note, there are essentially no Chevrolet’s older than 1960, but a lot of ‘49-‘51 Fords DD0BB231-84DE-40F6-A700-D4CDD1F5426E.jpeg 1D017842-1F32-4CBD-A927-CCA97D2A9B2D.jpeg C43BB007-3462-4505-AA9B-0540620A51EF.jpeg 5372F6A8-D864-4642-B947-C3B410C1992F.jpeg DF404361-6989-463E-92FB-D6DDFAC00E78.jpeg C453A209-6E4D-4C2C-ABBE-9704EE0F3F41.jpeg

The very last yard that kept any of that stuff around here is getting crushed out as I speak... nothing old can stand in the way of "progress" the land is too valuable for more condos now...man if I could go to one of these places now ...I'd go every day, buy one bolt at a time and take 3 hrs. to undo it....
