I'm wondering how you came about this bourbon? Is it as good as the price indicates?

It is the best Bourbon I have ever had.

I hold it for special occasions. For regular days, it is just regular Blanton's. I have all the lettered corks.

My local distributor is happy to sell me the most expensive stuff, since the bars are all closed right now.

I was not aware that it was sold in the US yet. I'll keep an eye out. In the meantime, I've discovered Garrison Brothers in Hye, TX. and I like that a lot.

 

For years I have struggled with storage of Tig welding rods, being they come in 36" cut lengths. I solved that problem today.

 

Well, it is on my kitchen table.

 

Got the kit in the last carburetor, things go well tomorrow it should be driving and hope it's out of my hair.

 

Today I replaced the Y-axis encoder head on my manual mill, to get the DRO running again.

Then I proceed forward with preparing the mult-pattern hub for my wheel building jig.

I got to play with this weird material called wood, strange stuff. Can,t weld it can,t hammer it. At least it's starting to shape up a bit.

 

You need a WIG welder.

Bought an overdrive transmission. Nice day for a 160 mile round trip.

 

That picture looks like the rest area outside Casa Grande

 

Pulled mine in for winter repairs and maintenance. On the schedule: front seal, new tie rod ends, alignment, fluids change, cosmetic detail..

 

Pulled the headers off my FE powered 64 Fairlane to swap in period correct scattershield, new flywheel and clutch. What a PITA even on the hoist! Remove engine tube to access engine mounts bolts, remove oil filter and adaptor, remove starter, raise engine on driver size etc. Disconnect everything and remove exhaust, drop driveshaft, unbolt collectors and jiggle individual pipes (Bag of snakes) out one by one. The top 12 o'clock header bolts are easy unlike the lower 6 o'clock bolts. A size 10 foot in size 8 shoes. Not a lot of room at back of engine to access bolts and remove bellhousing. Bottle jack will hopefully allow engine to be lowered suffuciently at rear and finish task. Dropping the transmission crossmember and removing the T10 is the easy part. These are worse than the FE Tri-Ys in my old RHD OT 66 Fairlane and it had no room on right side with steering box next to starter. Off my soapbox!

I needed a cup of coffee and a fat pill to re-charge me for the last 38 miles home.
I was in the truck lot because of the setting sun (and the probability of being run over on the gas pump side).

 

Floor removal in my 34' is completed. Almost ready for the sandblasting. Last nice day for awhile so I'm taking my Model A for a drive in the country.

 

I made made enough room in the garage to pull the A chassis I just picked up inside and start mocking up the T Roadster body on it. Now I gotta order some steel and get this body patched up.

 

It’s a Ford... as we all know who have them and expect no less when working on or up grading them...I’ve spent the last week under my 56 Victoria and whether it is a pain or not I’m pleased when I’m done..

 

Working on a 58 Corvette; it needed new intake manifold and carburetor.

The car has a custom chassis. Front and rear independent suspension.
I will try to take some pictures of the chassis tomorrow.

Still the original 58 engine.

Since I was replacing the manifold, I couldn't mark the ignition properly. So I put some tape over the valve cover, indicating the position of the vacuum advance.

Sure you can hammer it but you have to use short pieces of metal (NAILS)

Nails are usually made of steel but can also be made of stainless steel, iron, copper, aluminum, or bronze, I recommend the steel ones! HRP

 

I would have turned the engine over until the rotor pointed the same. Then pull it out..

Finished the plumbing on our dual quad Y-Block for a PCV system. Needed to modify the fitting on the valley cover to miss the rear of the manifold. Feeding to a center threaded plug between the carbs. Bought a 1/2” fuel line with multiple bends to make it easier. I have a roll of 1/2” aluminum tubing and a bender.

 

There's not a lot of luggage space in T Modified so I bought a boot rack for a BMW Z4 and narrowed it to fit on the Fordson E27N tank. Made some new brackets for it on my parts bender and metal folder. Had to modify the folder to produce sharp bends. Before it did the bend on the right of the aluminium sheet, now it does the one on the left

Runs great with minor carb adjustments. 1-1/2” of vacuum at the dipstick hole with oil fill sealed up. Idling in gear with AC on will hold a blue shop towel corner on the oil fill tube and the feed to the inside of the air cleaner.

 

Started with a little fender trimming to fit a grille in my '47.
