Hey guys pretty new to this. I've been lurking on this site for awhile trying to get ideas. Started gathering parts to build a traditional hotrod. I have no back ground in hotrod or building cars. But have been wanting to do so for a few years. I picked up a frame awhile back. Just recently found a body that was in my budget. I built a stand in my garage to set the fram on and box it in. When I'm done with that I'll set the body up and start replacing patch panels. 20210105_201313.jpg 20210108_200818.jpg 20210105_201313.jpg 20210108_200818.jpg

    Nice body...
where are you from ? may be hambers close to home...
Check to see if the frame is bowed before you box it... they sag near the motor mounts...
if you don't fix it the hood grill lines will be wrong... now is the time...

I am from Albion Michigan. I got the frame all set up . Is a slight tweak. I was going to clamp it down before I welded them in. I'm pretty new to this so I am learning as I go.

Chainsaw, Millermatic, and an engine hoist... I think you'll be fine.

What's the plan for an engine?

I'm not sure plan on engine yet. I'd love to do a flathead with tall and skinny whitewall tires . And keep it as close to a traditional hotrod as I can But right now I'm just parts collecting and trying to get ideas.

Welcome to the HAMB! Looks like a great project. You'll get plenty of help around here. Do yourself a favor and check out Aaron's videos of his project, he did a great job of documenting everything about the build, his videos are a treasure trove of information:

Well you've got a great start, frame table and what looks like a really clean body. Well on your way for someone who doesn't know the drill.

I am not new here but i like to see progress pix as I learn the ways others work...and tools they use...
Don't have to wait till a little job finished... pix as you go... don't worry that your welds don't look like a row of dimes....
Plus some of the guys may notice something you didn't think of and it save you a bunch of frustration...
post your "propped -up" pic... we have all been there...
    ... GO CG GO !

Nice, I'll be tackling the body mods for the Z'd frame soon, have you decide on a drive train?

I realy wanna go with a flathead. I just haven't gotten ahold of one yet. My goal at this point is to get the frame on axles and rolling.. I will take some pics of the progress and post them this week.

I appreciate it. I'm going to find a whole motor and then see what I need from there.

So this is where I'm at. Frame is zd. And started boxing frame. I'm going to make some plates to go over z'd section and clean it up alittle.

I’ve got a mostly complete ‘39 or ‘40 flatty and a ‘39 big fork synchro trans in my garage that needs to find a new home since I sold my ‘30 coupe project. I’m in Muskegon, and I have a truck if that helps you. I can get you some pics when I get home from work.
