VINTAGE SHOTS FROM DAYS GONE BY! (Part 2)

I miss seeing those original single flat sided exhaust pipes of the pre 55 Chevrolet’s. A long lost item of that era if a car was left stock.

 

I always wondered about that strange oval configuration. Anybody got a clue why they were that way?

 

I don't recall seeing that type of pipe on Chevies but I do know that on the earlier single exhaust Cadillacs, they had a chiseled end on them.

 

I think I remember it having to with reducing backfires and popping.

If the tuck box had a thatch roof, it could be in England. It could be English with just the beam structure. Where I was born most cottages and the pub had thatch roofs.
