Art & Inspiration Favorite interior part or addition?

Hey guys!
I want to see cool interior stuff.
In the '90's "Car-Toons" magazine (which is up and running again,) had a comic strip called "things you don't hardly see anymore".
And then it listed the things that you "don't hardly see anymore".
Things like the dimmer switch controlling the radio station, black & white pleated tuck 'n roll, custom dash knobs, mirror muffs, fuzzy dice, spinner knobs and other neat things.
Inspiration.
So what is your best interior thing?
I want a package tray, cup-holders, tachometer, compass, more interior lighting, a steering knob, record player, and lots of other things in mine.

 

Sex lights are a definite must have item.

 

Water bed.

 

Posted this once before on the door pull but I'll post this for all of these. Aircraft quadrant for the door lock, Fender amp handle for the door pull and an old leather bicycle seat bag for the "glove box."

My NOS day-nite Guide glare-proof mirror and pearled steering wheel. I've other similar accessories; compass, altimeter, suicide knob etc. Next favorite is the passing Eye door mirror.

 

Tach mount, gauges. All business in my old Morris Gasser.

Hot Rods shouldn’t ever have cup holders IMHO. Your opinion may vary.

 

I went old school diamond pattern on my recent '39 Chev coupe build.

 

It doesn't. But I'm building a custom. And I want it comfortable for those long-haul roadtrips I'm dreaming of taking.

OH YEAH...I like those knobs better than the ones on the dash

 

After par boiling my ball's holding a coffee cup between my leg's opted for a temporary cup holder, there when you need it and slides under the seat until you need it to hold your coffee/bottled water again or need it to make a quick repair.

A roll of duct tape works great and because it is sticky on the side of the roll it doesn't slide around on the carpet when resting on the floor of the car. HRP

Thought I was slick & got one of those cheesy cupholders you hook in the window track and it hangs iside your door. First time my big ol leg lets off the clutch my knee smacks the cupholder coffe and all off the door and in my lap and the cup and holder both rolling around the damn floor just making a mess. I use the roll of duct tape now...

 

I'm still trying to work out if this thread is a joke or not. I admit, I am a little scared.

I was gonna say a floozy tops my list, but Blake 27 kinda beat me to it. So I'll just say a tv, record player, and a phone ( NOT a cell phone ), and swivel buckets. See the "Plush and Padded " thread.

The first mirror muff would tip the balance for sure!

 

No photo but I'd have to say that my favorite thing that I had in my 48 was the 59 Corvette steering wheel I had in it that I put in in the mid 70's. I bought it from a friend who had bought a hulk of a 59 Corvette to use the body on a drag car on a tube chassis and sold the rolling chassis and a few other pieces. I bought that wheel for 10.00. I ended up selling it in the 80's to some Corvette restorer who spotted it in the truck at a show and offered way more than I thought it was worth.

During Mid 60s the Branch Cheese factory was booming, most of guys working there were gear heads and had cool cars. So when ever a new car showed up I had to check it out.
One made a lasting impression on this 13 year old ,
A black 4 door Lincoln convertible with a extra Mirror mounted under the dash on the passenger side.
But I think that one could be called a muff mirror

 

I would like a set of head rests for my Corvair. I believe they were made by Calgor. The hardware and mounting brackets in chrome.
They were an option on the Fitch Sprint.
The same ones were available through many vendors.
Some day I will find a set.
