Cragar S/S wheels take me back. I love them in a big and little setup. Show me what you're running

They were always my favorite wheels, so I put em on my 55.

 

What color is the blue?

 

My grandson's '59 we built together many years ago.

 

I've noticed that the 59/60 will handle a lot of tire on the rear! I stuck a 275 under mine and they look small on there. Good looking Elco

 

SS look good on just about anything!!

 

Yes, we observed that too. We went with big -n- littles but don't remember the two sizes.

 

Here’s my old 55 beater with cragar S/Ss

 

Love those Polyglass Goodyears......ran them on most all my cars including my 1964 Val......14"back 13" front....about the best pic and only pic......

 

In the days when the Cragar SS came out I loved them from afar, as had nothing they could work on and all my car money was going into oval track dirt cars. During the build phases of my current 31"A" hiboy, I saw some Cragar SS wheels over in the corner of the shop where my friend was doing my body and paint work.
Went over and picked one out of the stack of wheels to measure bolt pattern, width nd back space. I was shocked at the weight of these wheels, put back in stack and ain't taken a second look at any of them.

I had a set on a Pinto. Yeah, a Pinto. Damn things rusted in no time, even trying to keep them polished. Since then, all I have bought were aluminum wheels.

 

Might be off topic, but I'd give my nuts for that car man. That's a beautiful car

 

Yeah cragar's need maintenance, and they're heavy, but i love em.

i have them on my tow rig (henry j gasser) and on my race car (bantum altered, flathead powered). as far as i am concerend, after they made Cragars, they haven't made another wheel any better. i get mine made at a place that's a lot cheaper than anywhere else.

 

I like the 24 carrot gold ones...

 

A couple of recent uses. They are still a timeless design..

I almost went with these cast grey wheels. I like these better than the chrome. But I decided on slots for my car.
