Wow. Very nice and I agree. Some subtle hot rod tricks and keep it unchopped. Congrats on getting this old girl back.

sweet ride, I'd roll it as is, I can see why you don't want to mod it up.

  3. Got the 32 steering box out today. Going to replace it with an F100 that Neal in CA did for me five years back. I sold the car before the box was done so the time has come to get it in the coupe.
Made a quick steering wheel puller from a left over spring shackle p-late I had in my bracket drawer. Just had to nip the ends a bit to fit in the wheel. IMG_7494.JPG IMG_7497.JPG IMG_7498.JPG IMG_7499.JPG

Is Neal still on the HAMB? He always had a great build going. Bob

  11. Not sure mine will be that nice! I will say my 32's body and fenders are as nice as I have seen. Today I am changing the steering box to a F100. Next I will do the front axle and f&r springs. Then tires and wheels. Thanks for the remarks!

  12. I can see why you like my roadster. I was looking at your 30 coupe and it is done the way I would like. Just right Model A.

Hope that Roadster Pick Up is painted and going back together, one of my favorite HAMB builds.

Wow great score, Please do not cut that car. Just make her safe and hit the road. Pete Eastwood can drop an original bar for you. I won't ever cut mine either.

CT, Car has So Cal 4 inch dropped axle and coil overs in rear. Still has original paint on body. Nothing has been done that can't be undone. Original Chassis is in the basement. Doors have never been off the car. Much like yours it should be just driven.

  19. Have the steering box conversion finished except for the drag link. I will be make one out of two this week.
I had to open the center frame hole for the steering box a bit. All back together IMG_7501.JPG IMG_7510.JPG Also had to take some of the bolt heads to clear the F100 pitman arm.

That's a pitman arm, not a drag link. The drag link connects to the pitman arm.

  25. It was snowing today so I spent some time in the garage.:) Got the front end damper ready for installation once I get the springs and front axle dropped. I will be removing the suspension soon. That way I can send the axle out for some dropping!
I use these NITRA brackets and make one out of two. It will mount to the tie rod and the bracket will mount to the wishbone. I have made them for all the cars I have built in recent years. IMG_7523.JPG
I also straighten the end of the damper. This usually depends on your own application. IMG_7525.JPG
This one is now ready for installation once I get the axle and springs.

  26. Received my Posies front spring. Debeard the ends and prepped for paint . You can buy them from Posies rounded and smoothed ends but I like the squared off ends, just need to round the bottoms a bit and sand the scale off. These springs are top USA quality. Waiting for rear spring to be delivered. IMG_7530.JPG IMG_7529.JPG Will prime tomorrow.

  29. Received rear spring yesterday, got it all prepped and primed today. Also received tig wire I was waiting for to weld pitman arm. I will try and post some photos tomorrow . I know this is not the most exciting thread, but wtf it is Winter.

Mark, Is the pitman arm welding a modification to use modern tie rod ends? Could you have put an adaptor in the drag link and saved the Model A style end, and not cut the ball off the pitman arm? Bob
