Here are the Monsoon Maroon codes that I have:
    Ford - 14222
    Nason IEE 32250
    Duplicolor 32250 IEE
    PPG 50035
    DULUX 93-32250
    DUCO 246-32250

I had the Nason and Duplicolor mixed a while ago and they were a perfect match for single stage paint that is on my 47 which was done years ago.

  3. Looks like a color I have been trying to match for 30 years. Cessna Royal Maroon looks like that. The light brings out hints of purple

I hate to be that guy, but I have only heard of Moselle Maroon and Mandarin Maroon in the early 40’s Ford colors.

Never heard of anything called Monsoon Maroon. Not saying it never happened, I learn new things every day.

There are quite a few maroons that ford used. Right now I am leaning towards 1946 ford dynamic maroon.

    See, I learned something today.

  11. Every Automotive Paint store has these paint code books like Danny showed you above, Color Print your picture and match it up at your local Auto Paint Store. You'll be done in 15 minutes and they cam mix it up while you wait.

not to high jack but are the 41 and 40 ford colors the same (the maroons). I have seen one or two 41s in that color and love it (never seen a 40).. I would love to get the paint code..

Mark, you know the code. I am trying to find a factory color like that for my 51. I do not want one of the modern colors.. and being factory I am hoping it will be easy to touch up after it gets rock chips from driving the shit out of it.

Maybe Honduras Maroon? I owned a 62 Pontiac with that color and I know GM shared colors between makes.

  18. Look at 1954 Buick Honduras maroon.
Was very popular in my younger days.

I think you mean 54 buick Titian red (it was maroon in color and wildly popular back i the day). Sadly with the removal of heavy metals from paint products this is one of the colors that can not be accurately formulated in modern paints

  20. One of my uncles had a 46 Ford that looked remarkably similar.

It's interesting that Nason and Duplicolor have the same code with just the alphanumerics reversed

I really love Blue but was going to paint my OT LBC either Triumph Carmine or Jaguar Rehenct Red. Kept going for a more burgundy rather than maroon (with maroon being an anglicized version of the French word for chestnut). Couldn't make up my mind and went for Saphire Blue. Now seeing this thread I may paint it again in the spring. Curse you HAMB!!! LOL
