  3. What a bummer. Such a great place. That VAT-40 would be a nice keepsake.

  4. Such a shame. Wishing Steve all the best. Ryan that neon would look good in your garage!

  9. As a long time auto repair shop owner I'm sorry to see this. On my trips to Austin I would always do a drive by. That shop was legendary.

One more sad story from 2020. Hopefully some of the motors will help get some cars on the road.

Another sad story of the times, hopefully most the large items will find good homes. Would it be feasible to help Steve set up a store here ( and The Ford Barn). Just a Thought.

That's a consideration, but there is so much inventory it would be a full time job from one guy for probably a year or more... There's a lot of stuff man.

man.... hate to say it but the most efficient way to get rid of that much stuff is a live auction, assuming one would be allowed in this day and age......

Sad to see a nifty shop fade away. Hopefully someone in the area who wants to start a rod or custom shop decides that the building's history might be a plus in setting up shop there.

Right now an online auction similar to the one that Bob K's collection was sold with might be the best bang for the buck. Still just as selling in the Hamb Classifieds, presentation and details have a lot to do with getting the best price out of what is being sold and who ever is preparing it for sale has to spend the time to group things properly and photograph and describe them properly. Maybe some of the Hambers who have shops or sell quite a bit of NOS pieces will step up and make decent bulk offers though.

Not really any Olds stuff except for maybe some of the NOS auto parts on the shelves that might have Olds applications. But thinking I would try to sell all the auto parts inventory as one lot. 08-1-187x187.jpg

Get a trailer and head this way.
Need to be out by end of year or latest first couple of weeks of Jan. If I owned the building (and I tried), I wouldn't be moving, but the rent is about to double. Things have gotten pretty crazy in Austin, esp so close to downtown.
