  1. To me the 58 Chevy for some reason always reminded me of a fat chick.

My great grandfather had a 58 when I was a tot. It was the design of the rear half of the car that caught my eye then and still appeals to me today.

Some photos are taken from local sales ads, some are of cars that i've found myself and some are of my friends cars.
Hunting old abandoned cars in the woods is great fun!
The car in post 17356 is a Simca Ariane that i searched after for a long time. It was long rumoured that there was an old American car with big fins and a great big V8 lying around abandoned in my local woods.
Well people looked for it for years without finding it. Then one year they stay started logging the forest behind my house and i got call from one of the loggers that he had found an old car! It had been sitting less than 3miles from my house all that time!
Well it turned out to be a French car with small finns and a small Flathead V8 instead of the big American one, but pretty cool nonetheless.

  12. I can’t believe no one has called out this one! Post #17305 by @treb11

As I’ve said once before I may have an unfair advantage on finding old tin in Australia due to my job, working in aviation.... but I found this strawberry field thismorning,,, and no I won’t tell you where it is, because it’s his patch not mine,,,, but way cool truck collection, the scrap pile is out of view and it was to die for,,,,if it’s a hamber contact me and I’ll take it down,,,all trucks except for a few dozen Aussie 50s/60s classics,,,, there’s a few studes I’m keen on! Neat rows of truck , tractors and classics,, I had a fat the cat couldn’t scratch when I found it!!!all 30s, 40s,50s 60s IMG_1961.JPG IMG_1962.JPG IMG_1965.JPG

Thanks to people like this man, “they are still out there!” Our country is regularly ravaged by drought and floods and when times get tough like they are now the scourge of mobile scrappers and car crushers steal our manufacturing history ,,,for a quick buck even and our country music stars encourage it to farmers on regional tv , to scrap our history so we can buy a new Toyota 4x4,,,,,, and pretend that Toyota built our country

Here's one I drove 30 years ago. It has recently returned home to receive the care and rehab it deserves. I took it in to a "friend" to replace a sunroof someone installed before I got the car. As my friend's life descended into chaos and despair, it and several hundred cars became trapped in a "hoard" Only after his death has his brother started to let some go. All having been sitting a long time. While some could be made to run, most would be, in the OC Price Guide parlance, number 5 and 6 condition.
Any HAMB guys in the middle of Alberta, Can. who are looking for parts or projects may contact me here. Firstly, there are NO early Ford cars, a few early 50s-60s Ford trucks, 80% of vehicles are GM, from early 40s To the 80s,predominantly Chev and Olds, a few Buicks, no Cadillacs, a few orphans Nash, Hudson, I don't recall seeing any Mopars, but the yard is vast, some parts are difficult to access. I will disclose the location after we talk on the phone. Some vehicles may not be accessible til spring.Photos to follow
