I woke up one morning and my right hand didn’t work! It just flopped....couldn’t lift or twist it. It was so bad I had to splint it. It’s starting to come back now, but it’s REALLY effing with my welding!
    Anyway........

    More metal work......
I gotta say, these quarter corners suck! I’ll get it though. Got the driver side to do and finish welding up the pass side. It’s progress.....
    Thanks for checkin’ in fellas! IMG_0444.JPG IMG_0445.JPG IMG_0448.JPG IMG_0449.JPG IMG_0450.JPG

Well, got the rear panel gaps where I’m happy with them....panel isn’t even secured or bolted in yet, so I’m guessing they’ll improve even more! Took some measurements tonight and everything looks square! My body blocks came so I’m excited to get this mounted on the chassis.....still have a bunch to do first. Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas!! I think I can live with these gaps.....whaddya think? I made these braces to squeeze things together and add some rigidity......one set for inside the quarter and the other for the center panel.
    Another hurdle crossed!....wooo hooo!! Thanks fellas! IMG_0478.JPG IMG_0479.JPG IMG_0480.JPG IMG_0481.JPG IMG_0482.JPG IMG_0483.JPG IMG_0484.JPG

The old triple panel trick! This thing is FUGLY? These people make things worse than they have to be....and there’s BRASS to boot! Moving along though, have to make a patch for the bottom corner, but relatively speaking, the inner structure is in great shape! I have a brandy new skin, so it should turn out nice! Thanks for checkin’ in fellas!! IMG_0488.JPG IMG_0489.JPG IMG_0491.JPG IMG_0492.JPG IMG_0490.JPG

Too late now but to take sections off doors etc. with layers like that we used to run a grinder along the edges of the doors or whatever and remove just enough so you can see all the layers. Then they would separate fairly easy then removing the strips with the spot welds was easy just grab one end in visegrips then roll along the edge rolling them up like spagetti the welds USUALLY just pop apart.

Didn’t quite get to the skin today, but I did manage to fix the inner structure.....It’s not gonna be a show stopper....just a nice driver that I can drive the wheels off of!! I also made an Inner fender brace. The small original section is all that was left on the right side.....I could only find them in pairs and I wasn’t spending that much money on a pair of new ones.....happy Friday everyone!!

The issue was the screws and the brass OVER the screws.....where I could, I DID grind the edge off and popped the spot welds like you said.....that one edge was just too much of a mess! :D
    Thanks for the input LB!!

Deck skin came out nice...got the lower lip nice, just a swipe of filler and it’ll be good. Just have to knock down some of the spot welds. I haven’t decided on which hinges yet.... I got a set of chrome external hinges, think of using those, or the hidden conventional hinges.....OR, go with the rumble hinges. Whaddya think? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks fellas! 29. I like the external hinges. Deck lid looks like it came out well.

Thanks bread! I'm leaning toward the external hinges as well....I think it just adds a little "something"!
