Projects fixing a smashed 31 model A pickup cab.

I stopped at Charlie's Friday on my way home from work. he had the floor board made and painted. he also had made a couple pins to keep the bottom of the coupe cushion from moving. the upholsterer finished the back of the seat but the slacker hadn't picked it up yet.

 

he also installed his front shocks. these are a kit from Ken Davis.

Charlie has been sorting steering out and doing a bunch of little things.. I will get some photos this week of his project.

 

Charlie stopped by with his camera and the gas pedal linkage he made work. he narrowed the bracket, got the throw correct and adapted the mack pedal. he said it is real comfortable and easy to move from the gas pedal to the brake.

Charlie has been working hard and keeping up with his fall leave cleanup.
exhaust exits just in front of the rear tire .

 

he has the fuel tank and battery mounted.

 

for ease of installation and maintenance he put the fuse panel on the firewall.

 

dash is in, he painted it with a rust oleum "leather" brown.

 

here is a shot of how the white paint under the cowl helps brighten under the dash. Charlie used the old fuel shut off cove for the power cut out switch, easily accessible to the cockpit.

 

the slacker is getting close to finishing the wiring...

me too, he is working steadily, picking away at all the details. he had a tree taken down in his front yard and I am going to haul the fire wood away for him and hope to give him a hand this weekend.

over at Charlies to pick up the fire wood and give him a hand with a couple things. he got the fuel pump in and most the wiring figured out.

 

the other day I took a couple pictures of the patches Charlie made on the splash aprons and the way he used two running boards to make one.

 

yesterday afternoon I dug out an old trailer we are going to use to make a bed for the truck. this has been loaded with brick for a future project.

 

I unloaded the trailer and the bed sides lifted right off. the wood had rotted completely away.

 

flipped it onto the flat bed to get it off the hill. this is how this truck has been worked since I built it [1990]. post traction and a good e-brake, to get the bed off the hill.

 

Nice job ^^....

 

I thought about using that for my S10. But I am getting used to the rot holes.
