    Early NASCAR legends. One of the best books I ever read, Driving with the Devil. Would recommend it if you can find it. Great pics as always, thanks HEMIDAV

    This was ye olde hot rod hangout in Barstow California back in the mid-50's. That's "Big Eddie" Shaidell's wicked '40 on the right. We had a 1/4 mile stretch of lonely country road, on the way to Big Bear, marked out and on any given night you could find him there taking on all challengers. On the rare occasion he did get beat, it was back to the shop for another engine mod and then he was out looking for revenge! Good memories of times long gone. Thanks for the post Bleach.
