Aaron, bought a new Lincoln 140 MP today. Think that will handle all the MIG work I'm capable of doing. Thanks for your advice on this. Regards....Dick.

It's gonna get a hair cut, eh?

  5. I expect you'll have a video of this operation?

I thought racing stripes were normally applied front to back. LOL.

Bobby Walden says “chop the doors first “, so that’s what I’m doing. I cut both doors today and I’m working on filing down that last 64th of an inch to make it a perfect 3”s and a tight fit.

I have a 28 coupe I intend to chop and I have never heard of the idea to cut the doors first. What is are the benefits?

  20. @jlhelm There is a multi-video series from Walden Speed Shop where he walks you through the whole process. It’s worth watching if you’re going to chop a top IMO.

The biggest benefit is you will have something to reference when you are putting the top back on. It’s so much easier than trying to measure all your openings.

Yeah, I wish the previous owner that chopped my A would've done that, the passenger door doesn't fit worth a crap!

Thanks 48fordnut. It’s easy to cut it up, the hard part is putting it back together

I put six tacks around the top to check everything, then checked the windshield fit. So far so good.
