a regular on here, always posting pics of his car out and about, hasn’t been here all year ? Always enjoyed his photos. Anyone know what has happened to him ?

I wondered too a couple of months back and I think according to his last posts, he got pissed about something and went silent.

he is fine and working on his Nash. talked to him a couple weeks ago.

 

Haven't talked to Frank in a while. As suspected, he is doing his own thing and most likely driving the 32 around as always.

 

Yes, still using the 32 as a year round primary car, as the only other registered vehicle here is my 66 Chevy K20 that only goes out maybe 3 times a year for hauling big things.

Long explanation: Yes, I needed a break, but then the Hamb software changes? signed me out at some point. And I can only handle one forum at a time. In January, my son bought a 46 Willys from a northern Mass junkyard where it sat under pines for 38 years. I have no idea if I loaded the pics correctly till I post




He was going to use it for parts only, but like the old saying: "Like father/like son", despite it being junk like my finds, he wanted to "save it" and we fixed it up here. We finished it at my place by June, and just weeks earlier he finally bought his dream farm near here. (So, I was doing a build thread on a Willys Site till June.)

DMV closed indefinitely, so he put a farm transport "plate " on it and drive it to his place where he uses it daily as a chore vehicle.

Then he wanted me to stay active at near 69 and convinced me to try to finish the 32 Nash, so I've been on a "stock"antique car site forum. Pic taken in June when I was parking each day it in the lot to stare at it and try to gain ambition:


Last Sunday I painted the main body, hood parts and grille shell with all those free PPG SS Urethane DMD toners that I got for free from a Auto Parts store that was changing to a different franchise. Just like the Ford, I mixed my own colors close to what this car had when new. Son helped with the Ford mix, but too busy to help so I did it myself, and the beltline color needs to be darker
.

So...That's it. Both of these are OFF topic, so I cannot post anything else about them, and hope the moderators are ok with these few, as it explains that I have been away for several reasons. These vehicles simply don't belong on here.


Ok, to dispel some fake news Yes, you can daily drive, year round, a old hotrod with 100% old traditional parts like single circuit drum brakes, early Olds motor w/twin carbs, 3 speed non syncro first trans, self dropped Ford beam axle, bias tires (and the fronts are maybe 50 years old), generator, vacuum wipers, etc etc.

And keyboard experts say you should not use any paint that went below freezing, and never use opened hardener that is also old, because it won't dry. Nonsense, and I sure am not a pro painter by any means..

So that's it. PS ...Still waiting for Adam 401 who moved to my town, to finish his Ford coupe and have more than one old school rod on the local roads here.

That Nash is going to be really cool. I'm equally divided between hot rods and restorations so I appreciate what you are doing!
