Technical 292 casting number

    gdrummer

    so i just bought what i think is a 292. the cast number is 3994258. santucci's book has it as a 292 but a few sites other than this say 250. in addition, the inspection covers are 6" and the passenger motor mount is located closer to the front of the motor. so i do have a 292 right?

    What are you talking about? Ford ? Chevy ? If Ford, 292 is a V8 and 250 is a 6 cyl. If 6 cyl Chevy, I don' t know the answer to your question.

    side covers 6" tall? if so 292.

    yes, the rest of them are even.

    sorry, its a 292 inline GM 6
