    Hey Guys.

There is a guy here in Australia wanting to build a 1927 Model TT truck. The problem is, there were never any factory correct ones. Ford Australia only sold them as a running chassis and the buyer tacked on what ever cab they could source, usually a timber C Cab nailed over the flat bed.

What I would like to know is if there are any Hambers out there that actually own one of the correct steel close cabs, that I could source measurements from ?

It’s just my opinion but the Aussie version looks pretty ugly.

I hate to dis agree, but I'm dying to build a cool home made c-cab flat bed TT with "modern" running gear. I think a person could design one around the TT parameters to look either old timey, or hotrod depending on wheels and tires.
The only outside sourced sheet metal would be the hood, fenders, and grill shell. I've been thinking on one of these for a while.
I have a friend who has a closed cab stock TT that i could measure if you need, but the numbers are on the webb if you dig enuff.
In USA in "the day" many TTs were sold as a chassis and running gear with a seat and steering , and the customer built the cab an bed for whatever their needs were. Also after market companies bought them and built cabs and beds of their own design.

Get someone to lay a US Dollar bill on one and take a picture, unless they have a wooden yard stick. Our Dollar is Six inches long. I have used them more than once to measure stuff when nothing else is available. Folded in half, you get the idea. In the photo shown if you knew the tire size you could lay a grid over the photo and have some very close approximate figures. All this said, are there not blue prints or the equivalent on the net? Most all Ford stuff I see can be accessed with very precise measurements. And, yeah, the closed cabs have a pleasant appearance to them like toys for grown people, almost. I have always like the TT's for this reason.

    Chev34ute,
I have a 27 TT under the side shed with a C cab if you still need measurements. It does not have any doors on it.

Here's an extended cab. The owner lost interest. Anyone here interested? IMG_1006.JPG

Ford Australia did not begin manufacturing closed cab trucks until 1932. There are only a couple of closed cab AA trucks in the country. And no 30/31 AAs at all.

    chev34ute,
Here is a picture of my 27 TT, looks like someone along the way converted from full cab to C cab. Not sure about that I'm very non educated when it comes to Model TT's. This is a someday project after finishing the 39 Ford Pickup. TT measurements.jpg

Pete Eastwood built this TT years ago, I realize it's a roadster and not a C cab . I remember he had it for sale at the LB T swap meet. Had a little modern chevy 4 and an auto trans (I think it was an auto). Very cool truck and built in typical Eastwood fashion....perfect. Pwood32-vi.jpg

I was inspired by the Eastwood TT when i built my AA. Its a cool hauler. I was under the impression that it was 327 powered, is interesting to hear it has a four. I put a 4.3 in my AA. It fit nicely and moves it along fine.

I could have sworn he was running the little chevy II banger because I remember he had a Rajo, or Fronty, valve cover adapted to the chevy valve cover.

Just did a quick search and looks like it is a sbc, I don't know how I got that wrong?

On the Pete Eastwood TT is that a Model A or AA axel up front?

  28. Looks like a 32 Ford heavy axle to me.

  29. Looks like a deuce axle to me.
