Scored THEE set of tail lights I REALLY wanted! The Del Ray lamps would’ve been nice....but THESE are stuck in my memory from childhood! Hmm... I wonder why they’re so scarce and EVERY set that I found listed were ALWAYS sold before I could buy them....Well, no longer....these are practically spotless! Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas!!! Hmm.....from some investigating....the flywheel has been lightened also! I'm kinda thinkin' this thing may have been bored out as well. It did belong to an old hotrodder......we'll see when the heads come off!

Whew you had me worried in the first post that you were just going to plop it in there as is. I should have known that you wouldn't do that. ;)

Nah....heads and intake are comin' off and I'll go from there.....It had a fresh set of plugs too....oil is clean and clear. It looks like it's been taken care of. But, if there's any indication, ie cylinder ridge/scores, then it's coming completely apart.

Cylinders look good! Still has crosshatching! This thing is clean inside....heads came off with minimal effort...so it’s been into close to being put out of service for engine swap....the guy I got it from went with a big block.... Adjustments.JPG

The motor looks like it's in great condition. I wish I could find 'em like that.

    There you are Mart! ....
It really is. I got to talkin' to one of the truck drivers that drops off containers one morning and inevitably it lead to Hotrods and cars. Said he knew a guy that just went big block in his Ford and had a flatty for sale....cheap. I said what the hell and just bought it and stashed it at work.....that was almost 10 years ago and I had nothing to put it in. I thought maybe my Tudor, but my Pop liked what I did with flat 4. Came upon the coupe almost the same way; it came up in conversation and here we are!! Thanks for checkin' in Mart....love your input!

Until I can afford another set of heads, these will do just fine! They’ve been milled quite a bit, so I’m assuming the comp ratio has been increased. Not sure how much though.....but with everything that’s been done to this engine, I’m sure it’ll be just fine!!
Thanks for hanging’ out fellas! IMG_0046.JPG IMG_0047.JPG

On to the engine and getting that into place...I’m curious to get a basic idea of ride height.....leaving for Virginia tomorrow for my niece’s wedding....that means DAYS away from the coupe! Returning Tuesday....maybe I’ll spot some nice crap along the way and piss the Wife off...
